| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 4, 2005 Thanks Derek, much appreciated! Dark hazy amber. Frothy beige head creating some nice webbing. Black pepper and spices arise and fill the nostrils. Candy and fruity malt notes as well. Sweet candy fruit flavours with enough spice and bitterness to balance it all out. Smooth, creamy mouthfeel, nice peppery aftertaste, with lots of alcohol warming taking place. Great example of the style, and a great winter warmer. Count me in! tupalev (2611), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 2, 2005 Bottle from LCBO giftpack. Lots of streaming bubbles leading to a huge fizzy head with a mogul like frothy top. Dark yellow - looks perfect in appropriate glassware. Lovely spicy yeast aroma. Medium mouthfeel. Sweet spicy taste. Pepper notes, decent bitterness. Quite bitter as it warms actually. Lots of alcohol but never too much. Very similar to the St. Bernardus Tripel, maybe just not as complex and a little more straight forward. But very very good. caledonian (367), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Oct 29, 2005 yellow color with a pretty thick white head that seems to go until the end of the beer. taste is fruity slightly bitter and malty. refreshing, but towards the end the beer becomes kind of flat. not my favorite tripel, and no where near the quality of st bernardus tripel (i dont know the difference between these two beers.) not something id buy again, because i could buy st bernardus tripel. 00cobraR (1098), Greensboro, North Carolina, USA
