The aroma is massive; meaty and fruity. Thick and nose filling. Some burnt chocolate notes in there amidst the woodiness. The taste is absolutely gorgeous. Thick moussey fruits. Wood and chocolate. Exceptionally long finish. Big malty flavours with fruity hops balance in perfect harmony. I wouldn’t class this as a tripel but I would class it as World Class as a beer. Aroma was of yeast, oranges, spices and some lemon. Flavour was of yeast up front, citrus, black pepper. Medium creamy body, high carbonation. Finishes spicy and long. Nice tripel. cmr1517 (35), New Haven, Indiana, USA

| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Sep 15, 2007 Pours a cloudy gold with a off white head that starts falling fast. Decent lacing on the way down too. Nose is sweet and a bit yeasty. Typical stuff, but just right I think. Flavor is great. Slight sweetness with a spice that bites the tip of your tongue. The sweetness stays mild and is only joined by a yeasty influence, and never overshadowed. Really a smooth mix of brewing mastery I think. A lot of carbonation on the feel. It might border on being a bit much, but I think it still feels nice on the tongue. Masterfully created and continually drinkable. An amazing brew that is taking the position of one of my favorite tripels. More old school, with nothing schnazzy or wild about it, it’s a smooth and even production and another St. Bernardus piece of art. elektrogeist (158), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

Immediate aroma from the bottle of a perfectly brewed Belgain ale. Poured with a creamy permanent head, pale golden color. Maybe not strong enough to be called a tripel, but the flavor definitely hits the mark-not too aggressive but just right. If you have the means, definitely give this a whirl. | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Feb 1, 2006 Very nice pour with a nice lingering head. Lots of suspension in a very translucent orange/brown. Complex scent, herb, citrus, alcohol and more. Some warming alcohol in the taste. The taste varried greatly but finished with a shot of quick bitterness. A great Tripple. fredandboboflo (1404), East Setauket, New York, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jun 13, 2009 Bottle. Aroma of flowers, bread, light fruits, yellow-orange fruits, gentle blanket of spice, mild doughy yeast. Flavor continues to be wonderfully balanced with complex waves of flowers, spice, and bread coming over the tongue, all the while with a strong yellow-orange, melon-flesh, robust fruitiness. But then it’s the bread again that’s robust. Then the spice-floral combination works its magic. Superbly drinkable, full-bodied, crisp, but almost juicy too. Just a magnificently well-rounded beer, impressed the hell out of me.
