The aroma of butterscotch, sweet malt, yeast, fresh and clean, the start ambrosial with a fine malt backing, the top middling in its feel to the palate. Moderately acidic, the hops understated in their presence, quite dry and long lasting, quite drinkable and not the least bit overpowering, well worth a sample. Bov (5514), Bienne, Switzerland

Moderately hazy, big head which lasted a good long time and then totally collapsed. Good painted bottle. Sweetish, candied yam flavor with good spicing. Very enjoyable. Very cloudy yellow-orange with a good sized snow white head. Very nice aroma - notes of yeast, orange, butterscotch & shortbread. Flavour is full and sweet, lots of malt, hints of pepper & spiciness, with a yeasty finish that has some citric bitterness. Not an overly complex beer, but a solid and enjoyable one. Taste: malts, ’backlying’ bitterness, not outspoken, neither hoppy. What sweetness there is seems to refer to white crystal sugar(syrup) or caramel. overall rather neutral but well-balanced. Warming alcohol effect despite relative low ABV.
Tasted example called ’Cuvée 2002’ in 75cl bottle, rather than usual 33cl. No indication of difference. dwyerpg (2553), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

It has a thick sticky coating at the start but becomes pretty normal for a triple. Quite nice. MaiBockAddict (1499), Good Beer Bar Deprived, New Jersey, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 24, 2004 750 ml bottle. Pale golden, huge white head. Yeasty subtle fruit aroma, more in order with golden raisins. Mild malty flavor with slight alcohol. Smooth lingering malt and a clean finish. More or less lacking in complexity, but well made nonetheless. JonR888710 (999), Cochabamba, Bolivia
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 21, 2007 Lucky to find this bottle at Clichy’s Tavern in the Montemarte neighborhood of Paris. Pours a rich orangish brown with a mighty egg nog head. Aroma is as it should be with fruit malt, spices, banana esters, along with dirt and dust (belgian yeast). Medium bodied beer, if not a little thin. Blesses the tongue with yeast, orange, apple, grape, cardamom and cinnamon. Tasty beer. Finish is wonderfully drying from the hops and ABV. Delicious.
