COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Watzdorfer Schwarzbier is a composition of carameled and roasted barley malt, consequently brewed without often used colorsirup. This sparkling beer with an accenting caramel note is best for social get togethers after "the big thirst" is quenched.

0,33 l bottle, thanks to kappldav123. Pours nearly black, tanned head. More spicy and pepper than malt on the nose. Starts rostmalty, dark coffie, light sweetness, little bit metallic. Mid sourness and grainy, gets a little bit thinner in the second stage. But a good one with his own character.

Laffes Schwarzes ohne richtigen Willen. Etwas Kaffee und eine ordentliche Portion Wässrigkeit. Karamell ? Nicht wirklich. Derb und lahm.

Pours out of the bottle in a deep black colour with steady low head and medium body. Aroma of malt and grains. Taste of malt, spices, broth, woods and barley. Grainy finish. Drinkable yet not that nice.

(bottle) pours a deep brown colour with a frothy beige head. aroma of dark chocolate, salami, smoked ham and herbal hops, also slightly grainy. flavour is caramel, smoked ham, dark chocolate and herbal hops, slightly meaty, with a light herbal-hoppy roasted-bitter finish. medium-bodied with average carbonation.

By the way hat mein Schwarzes 5,1% Alk. Fazit: Gelungen! Test vom 6.8.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 12,12,12,12,10,12 - 11,90

0.33 l bottle (5.1 %), thanks Timo A! Dark reddish brown color. Sweet aroma of dark toasted bread with hint of caramel and toasted nuts. Dryer dark bread with some raisins. Medium body with soft oily palate. Good schwarzbier, good dark bread character.

Feb 2007: Brown 33ml bottle, 5.1%, bought at Green Week, Berlin. Poured into its own breweries vase type glass, it looks the business. Very dark, even for a schwarzbier, its head, which is cream in colour soon goes to just a rim around the glass. Malty, dark chocolate and burnt caramel is the aroma that I detect. Malts, chocolate malts and molasses give the typical taste of this style. The flavours stay for longer than some schwarzbiers, a burnt caramel overides everything else, very pleasant. This is an OK beer, try it if you see it, I will give it another go, if I ever see it on tap.

0.33l bottle, 5.1% a/v, gift from Germany (thanks mom!) Dark ruby red, very dark, with a decent tan head. Aroma of malt, nuts, dark chocolate, and caramel. Taste is malty, with chocolate, caramel and nuts as well. A nice dark roasty brew, great for the fall. Aftertaste is nice and malty, but also well balanced. Very nice one!

Test vom 1.12.2006, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 7,11,11,12,7,12 - 10,95
