On tap Weasel Boy Brewing Zanesville, OH. Pours out a pitch black topped with a tan head. Aroma of roast malts, some sweetness and a touch of smoke. Tast the bitter dark chocolate was on this one. A nice rich roast malt. Nice.

Thanks to Michael for this one. Black body, no head is formed. Aroma of licorice, chocolate, slight roast. Flavor is smoky, chocolaty, baker’s chocolate, dry cocoa. Thin bodied for an imperial stout.

Nose of chocolate syrup, chocolate malt, roast, a bit of bitter chocolate, some lactic yeast notes as well, though, maybe something like burnt milk picked up in the aroma. Still, quite a solid beer. Tastes better than it smells, it’s rich, moderately sweet, malty, there’s a ton of chocolate syrup and oily nuts (thanks Ken!) and vanilla throughout. Quite good. I like this brewery.

Growler, courtesy of Schroppfy. Thanks, Michael! Pours a very dark chocolate color; medium brown head with solid retention and lacing. Solid aroma of milk chocolate, licorice, and dried dark fruits. Medium-to-full, slightly oily mouthfeel: loads of dark, oily chocolate, roasted nuts, and nougat upfront; enough basic bitterness to balance things out; solid nuttiness, and generous chocolate. Lengthy finish: oily nuttiness, roasted malts, and plenty of chocolate. A solid, tasty impy.
