On tap at the ’13 Cincy Beerfest. Dark beer with a thin brown head. Big whiskey and caramel corn nose. This is a thick chewy beer with flavors of molasses, rich dark caramel, toffee, vanilla bean, oak, bourbon and raisin bread. Hints of chocolate and tar. The nose fills the sinuses with alcoholic goodness. Complex beer made better by the barrel.

Wow thanks for sharing Bob! This was a pour from a 1 gallon growler, the one in the picture up there at the top of this very page. Now, this 1 gallon growler is special - only for this particular beer. It even says ’please enjoy responsibly’ on it. Now what. The. Fuck. It’s a 1 gallon growler, there is no way to enjoy this responsibly, even with 8 of us. Massive chocolate nose and well represented in the taste. What. Nice beer! Big motherfing growler!

Tap sample at CBWF. Poured a black color with an average creamy brown head that mostly lasted and produced excellent lacing. Heavy toasted malt, bourbon and chocolate aroma. Full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Moderate to heavy complex toasted sweet bourbon flavor with a heavy toasted sweet finish of long duration. Best of fest complex standout brew.

Draft to taster. Looks good; black with foamy mocha lacing. Smells good too; dark malt, bourbon, vanilla, and a little roast. Tastes like it snells with a nice, smooth mouthfeel. Outstanding.

Pored on draft at brews cafe. Pours a black with a tan head of foam. Aroma is very woody and boozy with a hint of coffee peaking through. Taste hits you hard with Bourbon and then smooths out into a nice woody, coffee bean and chocolate. Thick on the palate. Nice sipper.
