COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brown Stoat is rich deep brown in color and almost opaque. It is bursting with chocolate, roast and coffee-like flavors. Its firm bitterness compliments the rich malt flavors and creates a bittersweet quality to the beer. With average alcohol content, Brown Stoat is a moderately strong American-style ale.

Draft sample. Poured black color with an average frothy light brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Good roasted coffee malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth dry texture with flat carbonation. Moderate toasted sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of average duration. Solid drinkable dry stout.

Sample at the brewpub. Pours almost black with a medium and creamy khaki head that diminishes steadily. Patchy lacing on the glass. Roasty aroma with notes of malt and chocolate. Medium-bodied with a pleasant roasted character and flavors of malt, chocolate and coffee. The finish is dry and roasty with a coffee and sweet malt aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Taster on tap at Casa. Labeled simply "Weasel Boy Stout". Black color, though not totally opaque. Good roast malt flavor. Light dark fruit. Bit of tobacco. Light molasses. Medium body. Slightly chewy texture. A little watery in the body, though. Light carbonation. Little khaki head, not much lace. Some milk chocolate. Little coffee in the finish. Light bitter taste. More sweet. A fine stout.

On tap at Weasel Boy this past weekend. Pours nearly black and is nearly opaque. Good tan head and a nice collar after that faded. Nose brings forward a good dosage of coffee combined with dark chocolate plus some roasted malt. Faint hop presence. Really good balance between all the parts. Flavor hit home as well. Good chocolate and roast combo. Medium body that was quite chewy with good carbonation. Really nice all around. Serving type: on-tap

Sample at Weasel Boy. Dark brown pour with a medium tan head. Roasty coffee aroma that you’d expect in a dry stout. Malty up front with a full roasty coffee finish. Pretty good for a dry stout.

Shared a pint of this at Weasel Boy brewpub. Poured a black color with virtually no head aside from a small wispy one. Aroma was a roasted malt one with a nice coffee kick. Flavor was nice, roasted and malty, with a enjoyable light bitter coffee note.

On tap at the brewpub. Big foamy pour, looks like a nitro stout. Nice mild roasty flavors that are not overwhelming. Happy olfactory. No CO2 detectable on the buds. Has an overall rosty flavor of mild burnt wet campfire wood with just a tad of bitterness on the finish. Over all good beer experience.

UPDATED: MAY 20, 2011 Draft sample at UMMO. Pours a deep black brown with a tan head. Nose mildly roasty and slight coffee notes. Also some American hops seem to peek out as well. On taste, quite robust and full flavored. more of the cocoa and coffee roast notes. Firm bitterness and slightly resiny hops. Medium-full bodied lending a clean and dry finish. Enough sweetness comes in to help keep the bitterness in check. Minimal astringency. Very nice.
