Loosely based on a German-style altbier, our amber is a slightly sweet malt oriented ale with a nice balancing bitterness and subtle noble hop aroma.

Somewhat like an Alt, but closer to an ESB. Pretty good though a little thin.

Sample at the North Market Microbrew Festival on 09/12/2009 (happy 29th berfday to me). Pours cloudy amber with a thin tan head. Caramel malt aroma wtih some earthy hops and a hint of diacetyl. Nicely balanced flavor with earthy hops and caramel malt, but still getting some diacetyl in there. Not a bad beer overall, but not great.
