Draft sample. Poured hazy orange color with an average frothy white head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate sweet fruit aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture and soft carbonation. Moderate complex sweet flavor with a moderate sweet finish of medium duration. This sweet beer also met my expectations.

On tap at Oak Room in Athens, Ohio. Murky orange/yellow in color with a good amount of head and lacing. Aroma of a mellow fruit, along the lines of cantalope and mango. Taste is crisp and refreshing, with the fruit well balanced between hops and malts. Enjoyable summer brew that was one of the highlights during OBW.

On draught at Barley’s Ale House #1. The beer is a slightly murky orange-yellow color with a thin white head that evaporates quickly to an island of foam in the middle. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of ripe fruit and pale malts. Light body with a mildly tart fruity character along with notes of wheat and sweet malt. The finish is fruity and tangy with a slightly metallic hops aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

Growler brought back by a friend. Hazy amber pour with a medium white head. Malty nose with tropical fruit and grassy hop notes. Flavor starts with the tropical fruit and has an herbal, almost light fennel character before grassy hops come in and then a cereal malt finish ties it all up.

Poured on draft. Appearance is a slightly hazy copper color with at nice white head of foam. Good retention and lacing. Aroma is mildly fruity and tangy with notes of tart pawpaw and a melange of other fruits. Taste is mildly sweet and bitter. The pale ale character is fairly well covered up by the pawpaw, but I find this beer nice anyhow. Refreshing beverage to say the least.

On tap at Casa Nueva, served in a pint glass for $4 ($1 off on Wednesdays). Is this really called "Weasel Boy Paw PawPaw Pale Ale"? Half-hazy murky yellow color, nearly no head, no lace. Lighter, crisp carbonation, good dry texture. Goes down smooth. Refreshing. Despite having sampled a couple different pawpaw beers now, I’ve still never tasted or even seen a pawpaw in it’s raw form, but I’m starting to get an idea of what they taste like based on the beers. The aroma is sweet and tangy citrus, some floral, interesting more subtle spice... Maybe clove? Kidna lightly hoppy. Great fruit beer, very tasty and refreshing.

First, can I just say I love the name of this beer? Come on! Its just fun to say! PAW PAW. Sweet SWEET nose of citrus fruits. Flavor was fruity but not overly sweet. I got banannas and appricots. Very light. Very drinkable.

Handbottle thanks to Jcwattsrugger. Pours cloudy apricot. White head. Nose/taste of mango, resin, hops and pale malt. Really strong nose. Lots of fruity citrus and mango. Taste is pleasant but falls a bit short of the nose. Medium body.

On tap at Weasel Boy this past weekend.
Pours a good orangish-peach color with a good white head. A few spots of lacing as it falls and a cap throughout. Nose carries a good dosage of the paw paw fruit, which is awesome as far as I’m concerned. Citrus and floral hops around that. Light bread in the background, though more so in the flavor. Paw paw there as well, though not as many hops as the nose. Mouthfeel is great with the paw paw providing a light citrus zest and light tartness. Really love that fruit, and a good use of it here.
