3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Thorpe429 (4844) - , Illinois, USA - AUG 16, 2012On tap at Weasel Boy last Saturday afternoon. Served in a wine glass. Pours a moderate brown-red color with a short, quickly-dissipating head. The nose is a bit creamy with faint notes of oak along with some light fruit character. Flavor has a touch of tart cherry along with some very lightly-sweetened bready malt character. Very mild acidity and creamy body. Easy to drink, though not super complex.

Growler shared by Chris. Thanks man.
The beer is chestnut brown with ruby highlights. Small beige head. The aroma brings some odd scents of plastic, nail polish, along with some more buried pleasant aromas of classic our bruin scents and cherries. Light bodied, low carbonation. Needs improvement.

From notes....
A: The aroma is lackluster at best. I can best describe it as apparently tart and on top of that there is a ghost of chocolate and other roasted malts.
A: The appearance was unremarkable. it can best be described as a murky brown topped by a fleeting off white head; there is also some lacing present
T: The taste is the best part of this beer. It is not overbearingly sour, in fact it was quite mild. My favorite aspect of this beer was how prevalent the specialty malt was in the taste. As soon as the sourness diminishes a nice chocolately aspect takes over.
P: The palate was refreshing and pleasantly spritzy. I could drink this beer all day throughout summer.
O: I am pleased with this sour.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 radagast83 (3110) - Fairfax, Virginia, USA - AUG 12, 2012
Had this one at the brewpub - poured a mud-red color with a small off-white, light-tan head. Aroma was a touch of tart, sour, with a bit of bready yeast and fruits. Palate was a touch puckering - mostly the aching in the jowls that I get when sours hit me just in the right spot. Overall, this sour brew was pretty enjoyable. I picked up a growler for consumption in the next few days, so hopefully it holds up just as well then.

Firkin version at Barley’s 9th Annual Mini RAF (05/14/11): The beer is a murky reddish-brown color with a thin light beige head that dissipates to an outer ring quickly. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of tart fruit and yeast. Medium body with flavors of berries, yeast and malt. The finish is moderately tart with a fruity aftertaste. Pretty good introductory type sour ale overall.
