3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft to taster at Appalachian Vintner. Looks good; a mostly transparent gold with white lacing. Smells solid; Belgian yeast and relates spices with a fairly sweet backbone. Tastes like it smells with a solid mouthfeel. Enjoyable.

Great gobbly. This smells and tastes like banana bread in a glass. Barely there lclear light yellow in the glass! No head and no lacing. I freaking love banana bread. Taste and smell are derived from yeast alone according to Geoff at Appalachian Vintner. Wow! Good sh!t right here !

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draft at brewpub. Pours golden with a white head. A bit of fruit on the nose. A bit of lime in the tongue. There’s also a slight Belgian yeast thing. Finishes clean. Hides its alcohol well. Closer to an Abbey triple than anything Ellen solid but not amazing.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a hazy golden orange on tap with thin off-white head that leaves light lacing on the way down. Aroma of belgian yeast, spicy hops, and a hint of fruity esters. Taste is much more of the esters, with the spices coming out more as the beer warms. Really easy to drink and crisp on the mouth, dangerous when the batch I had was coming in around 10.8% instead of 9%.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Beer 24 Asheville trip. Golem in the gears... Apparently this batch got a little feisty, as the ABV on this one had ripped its way up to a heady 10.8%. Poured a very lightly hazy gold, nice head. Aroma of pal malts, cotton candy, and fruity esters. Flavor is a match, with notes of bubble gum, banana and just the faintest hint of clove. Full bodied, but not at all cloying. Alcohol present, but not overpowering. Exceptionally well done. And I think that this is the only beer on the entire trip where my wife tasted the sample and then promptly ordered herself a full glass. A highlight of the trip.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft in a flight at the brewpub. I appreciated this one because it was a nice and strong-flavored brew, but didn’t have the sweetness that a lot of Belgian styles have. Great bite to it.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Draft at the source. Cloudy golden color, thick white head, solid lacing. Aroma of bubblegum, citrus and funk. Taste is softly sour tropical fruit. Wonderful.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at the brewery. Good fruity aroma, honey and sugary malt with spices and Belgian yeast. Sweet malt base with a considerable but dry despite the sweetness with light fruits and spicy hops. Smooth mouthfeel with average carbonation. Not boozy at all, actually insanely drinkable for the ABV. Very good for an American Belgian style golden ale. Not overly sweet or estery like some can be.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap at wedge. Poured in a tulip glass... Appearance of a mostly transparent golden light orange hue and topped with a medium frothy white head... Belgian yeast phenols to coincide with orange peel, lemon, and a grassy backdrop... Flavors are sweet, somewhat phenolic with Belgian yeast, honey, and lighter citrus notes. Overwhelmingly sweet with a slightly earthy finish. Lighter bodied and makes a hard to drink beer a little more easy going.
