On tap at Wedge.
Fruit cocktail aroma.
Orange amber thin head.
Taste sensation of floral grapefruit hops with wild cherry notes and something that I couldn’t identify but I liked.
Bold, raw feel.
Sensational beer

Draft at the brewery. Brownish orange pour - a little cloudy. Sweet aroma with touch of grassy hops. Flavor is similar - very bready/toasty with caramel and honey sweetness and earthy hops. Dry finish.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Shag (2445) - Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA - MAR 24, 2011
This poured a dark yellow color with a moderate head. The aroma contained pine, perfume, and oranges. The flavor was rather bitter with more oranges showing up. The malt presence was certainly there. Overall a nice IPA.

Draft at brewer 7.4% abv. Pours an orange with a white head. Nice hoppy floral scent. Taste is crisp and balanced between caramel and citrus. My favorite from them at the moment.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 bubbleflubber (1465) - Asheville, North Carolina, USA - NOV 14, 2010
On draught from the brewery. Pours a wonderful hazed orange with a soapy head that leaves window-wash lacing. The nose reminds me of a country farm, with silage and hay, just gorgeously comforting. English bitters, tannins, malt, oranges, peel/rind, biscuit flour and a bready essence are well-balanced against a nice earthy lingering bitter finish. The mouthfeel is round with soft carbonation; a smooth, easy drinking palate and medium body accompany. Pretty delicious.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 ChainGangGuy (4132) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - OCT 10, 2010
Appearance: Dispensed a near clear, light coppery body with a standard, sufficient, white head.
Smell: A nicely aromatic, playful back-and-forth of honeyish, bready malts and citrus, spicy hops.
Taste: A maltiness of faintly toasted bread given sweet honeyed accents. An opening of fruity citrus with growing flavors of lemon and tangerine, then a bit of earthy spiciness. Medium bitterness. Persistent honey character in the final moments. Finishes fairly dry with a touch of enduring bitterness.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: A tasty, well-balanced India Pale Ale. Stop in and give it a try when in the Asheville area.

Very cloudy orange with light white lacing. Light aromas of grapefruit and grass. Medium-bodied palate is very balanced and slightly oily, which takes the edge off the bold hops. This is dead-on what an IPA should be.

UPDATED: JUN 7, 2012 On tap at the brewery in Asheville. Hazy, dark orange pour with a short off-white head. Faint citrus and floral hop aroma. The taste offers bitter grapefruit rind and pine needles. Flavor is well balanced. A very good easy-drinking IPA...Replaces my original review from June 2010 at Mellow Mushroom, Asheville. Dark caramel orange, whitish head. Heavy caramel aroma, bitter hop bite. Taste is spicy, very bitter, not very flavorful hop profile, caramel.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Drake (6600) - Ivy, Virginia, USA - MAR 12, 2010
Growler from the brewery. Pours a hazy copper color with a medium tan head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of herbal, resiny hops with some pale malty notes. Taste is big bitter herbal hops with a bit of citrus, some nutty notes and caramel malts. Medium bodied. Very bitter. Decent IPA but could use more balance.
