Draft at Thirsty Monk in Asheville, 6/26. Liked it. Didn’t get to Wedge, but did enjoy the beers that I had on tap downtown. Give this one a go.

Growler. Thanks for picking this up, Chris. Deep orange amber with no head. (Note: The beer was a few days old and had been opened by the time I drank it.) Pretty nice nose, flavor and body. Definitely english in style and one of the better examples I’ve sampled. Would love to have this on cask.

Draft at the brewery. Clear orange with a sturdy off white head and excellent lace. Hoppy nose with lots of citrus and some spice over a bed of caramel Medium body and carbonation, slightly resinous, and quite dry. Good balance between caramel sweetness and the hop bitterness. NIce IPA.

On draft at Barley’s Taproom, Asheville. Poured amber with a small off-white head. This beer was intriguing, almost a hybrid of English and American IPAs. Sweet malty base with a west coast style citrus flavor.

This is a quality IPA that some of the bigger boys would be proud to produce. This was fresh at the brewery and maybe the better for it. The hoppiness brought back fond memories of England.

Gold pour with tiny white head that went away fast. Honey and citrus in the aroma, flavor of malts and somewhat bitter but not too bitter with hint of carbonation.

Draft at Barleys Asheville. Pours a pale gold with mild chill haze. Lacing with a two finger head. The nose is nice and sweet, honey shows up, citrusy, very interesting, blend of English and American influences comes through nicely. Flavor shows English upfront, nice malt character, citrusy in the back, honey notes, light bitterness. Palate is thin with a mild carbonation.

Draft at barleys. Nice ipa, but soapy mouthfeel coats the tongue and distracts from the beer’s flavor.
