Warm orange color. Advertised as an IPA/barley wine. Smells like a typical IPA. Flavor is floral and bright. Much more IPA than barley wine

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at the brewery. Orangish amber in color with a medium-sized white head. Nice orange and citrus aroma with complex hops and a bit of sweet malt. Pale and caramel malt base with grapefruit, tangerine, and resinous hops as well as some honey. Dry and bitter. Mouthfeel is nice, medium-plus bodied with good carbonation and you can feel the IBUs. Nice DIPA overall.

Draft @ the brewery. Pours a dark orange amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty piney grapefruit aroma. Sweetish malty hoppy bitter piney grapefruit flavor with hints of caramel. Has a sweetish malty hoppy bitter piney grapefruit finish.

Pours dark crimson. Mild aromas of bread malt and dried/candied fruit like figs, cherries & currant. Macerated cherry & raspberry on the palate. It’s very good, would especially be good in the fall, BUT, not a lot of hops?? Definately not what I"d expect from a double IPA. Obviously a less pungent hop was used here than the standard Cascade, etc. Not what I expected, but very, very good.

A little disappointed in this one. Not really hoppy at all, but not bad bouquet of big beer aroma.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap into a goblet at the brewery. Pours an orange/red color with just a ring of a head. It’s pretty hoppy but doesn’t quite pop due to the intense malts. I mostly get raisins, brown sugar in the aroma with a little pineapple, grass and ammonia sticking out. The palate is thick but not overly sticky. More brown sugar and hints at dates are in the flavor, reminding me of a barleywine. The hops are here to provide a tropical zest, especially in the finish as it gets grassy and herbal. This is super malty though.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Deep copper/red pour. Intense malt sweet aroma. Flavor has a touch of citrus hop character but even more thick malt character and residual sweetness. Very sweet with touches of candied orange bitterness. Funky. Definitely more barleywine than double IPA...

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Dark brown-orange, thick whitish cover. Toffee raisin aroma. Taste is slick, toffee, caramel, raisin, figgy. This is much more barley wine than DIPA, which unless I was drunker than I thought was how it was written on the chalkboard.

Must have local beer from Asheville, NC. Exceptional DIPA. Beautiful reddish-orange beer with a sweet vanilla-white head...gorgeous! Nice sweet citrus and pine flavors with a massive hop-bite finish...oh yum! a stronger cousin to the Iron Rail IPA(also an exceptional ale). This IPA has definitely been workin’ out and may be on steroids! Go to the brewery tasting room, get comfy, eat free peanuts and feed some to Ozzie, the bar’s Australian Shepard(he cracks them & gets out the nut). It don’t get any better than this!
