2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 VAYankee (309) - Virginia, USA - OCT 24, 2003
Overall an unremarkable beer. Pours a deep amber with a cream colored head. Sweet malty aroma with a hint of fruitiness. Mild malt flavoring with a shortlived slighty sweet malty aftertaste.

Thin color but great head. Not much on the nose, a little sugar and hops. Thin and crisp. A decent quaffer but nothing to write home about.

On tap at the brewery. A deep amber and thick head, but nothing notable. Mildly nutty nose.

Bottle, OBX, NC. Amber lager - good oily copper color, foamy white head initially, disappers quickly, solid mellow taste, slightly sweet malt and tracing of hops followed by a fairly crisp finish. Pretty darn good.

Beer just tastes better to me when I'm at the beach. I guess it's psychological. This is one of my faves when I'm down in Nags Head NC. Nice malt flavor but with a good balance. Not super deep, but still has a bit of complexity.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 FlemishChar (224) - Virginia, USA - APR 15, 2002
Very drinkable fest bier. Caramelly, soft, malty. Can drink massive quantities.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 surffisher (198) - Raleigh, North Carolina, USA - MAY 25, 2007
Unpastuerized half-liter bottle from the brewery, 12/06. Pours a brilliant dark copper with nice carbonation but just a thin coverage and little ring of an off-white head. Pleasant subtle aroma of lightly toasted malts which, with a touch of noble hops, imparts a lightly fruity (cherry) aroma. Sweet malty flavor with some nice toasty notes coming through. Pretty clean with just a little bitterness upfront and a smooth, balanced, although somewhat dull finish. Medium bodied and medium carbonation, with a fairly smooth mouthfeel. This is a solid German-sytle Fest and one of the better Weeping Radish offerings.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 taalhiker (189) - Dayton, Ohio, USA - SEP 23, 2008
From bottle. Brought back from OBX. Pours amber with decent white head. Sour aroma and taste overwhelm this beer.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 BrewEd (182) - Wilmington, North Carolina, USA - APR 8, 2004
Bottled. Malty aroma of fruit and bread. Flavor has hints of caramel and a sharp finish with a slight kick of hops. A little thin - as a number of this breweries bottled offerings have been. A solid offering.
