3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottled. Malty aroma of fruit and bread. Flavor has hints of caramel and a sharp finish with a slight kick of hops. A little thin - as a number of this breweries bottled offerings have been. A solid offering.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: DEC 12, 2007 Orange-red in color. Sweet, pure malt aroma. Flavor follows the aroma with a strong malt flavor, a bit of caramel. Hops are minimal, slightly bitter. A typical amber lager.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Amber brown color with limited head. Tea and spice aromas. I can’t put my finger on the initial flavor but there is nice hoppiness at the rear. Tasty.

light and straightforward. decent maltiness in the aroma and taste. on the thin side. sessionable. nice to see a fest out this time of year, and this is a good one though not a stellar one.

Mediocre in every way. Lacked real hops character of any kind. Decent head. No particular reason to buy this beer rather than any other random microbrew. Note that this was in a bottle sampled in North Carolina (which has a bunch of stupid, commie regulations for alcohol content in beer). Perhaps the draft version of this beer sold outside of NC is a whole different story.

There really isn’t much remarkable here. It’s, well...an amber lager. Slight malt. Slight hops. Slight flavor. Inoffensive, for what it’s worth.
