2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 radio_nowhere (417) - Maryland, USA - OCT 12, 2012Draft. Dark gold color, white head. Aroma of grass, wheat and some light lemon. Medium malty body. Not bad, went well with my seafood dinner.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 adambcarrier (11) - Virginia, USA - MAR 16, 2013
Lightly flavored with no strong aromas or notes. Almost like a watered down fountain lemon-lime soda. No attitude in this beer. Grassy smell. Good for summer drinking, which is why it is probably called OBX beer.

Intriguing aroma but basic appearance with a standard taste and barely there mouthfeel.

Bottle at Food Lion on Emerald Isle. They also had some two hearted...at Food Lion! impressive. anyway, this beer was a little past its prime like many of the craft beers on emerald isle. I found a Heavy Seas Marquee Rye Porter from 2010 but that was at the wine shop. Anyway this beer is okay. A little darker golden, medium carbonation, small white head. Nose is lightly grassy, malt, light lemon, dusty. Flavor is similar, very lemony upfront, some light malt, light grassy hops. Would be a really nice beach beer if it was just a little fresher.

On tap at the brewery. Amber with a white head. Scent is almost nothing, some grass. Taste is sweet malt and straw.

Bottle. Light sour malt aroma with a hint of rubber. Golden yellow with large white head. Light sweet-tart lemon and barley malt flavor. Light hint of plastic in the finish. Some issues with chlorophenols - otherwise a nice beer.

Pours a golden color with almost no head to it. Almost grassy nose on it, though there’s not an overabundance of smell to this. A bit of sweetness to the taste, which was a little surprising.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Onenote81 (1002) - Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA - JUN 12, 2012
22oz bottle, poured into a stemmed lager glass. Pours a dark gold with a luscious off-white head as a capper. This froth retained well, leaving bits of lace clinging to the glass. The nose on this one is very "green" and vegetable-like. Mild herbal aromas with a touch of fruit on the finish.
Moderately carbonated beer with plenty of zip where it matters. Crisp and clean. Flavors of sweet apples, green leafies, and a mild hop presence make this beer a refreshing treat. Light bitterness, and light alcohol make it accessible and satisfying. This beer gives credence to an otherwise sub-bar brewery.
1.7 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Panzuriel (1183) - Westerville, Ohio, USA - JUN 5, 2012
22oz bottle sold at food lion in NC. Pours yellow amber with a thick head of medium foam. Nose is slightly metallic. Taste is watery again, slightly metallic and just a bit of crisp citrus. Largely a regrettable experience. Oh well.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 ADesenberg (304) - Ohio, USA - SEP 20, 2011
Bottle: on vacation in emerald isle, does this make it taste better? Maybe... It’s a great citrusy kolsh beer, and really hit the spot on the beach in the sunshine.
