Ungstrup (11075), Frederiksberg, Denmark Mar 12, 2007 Cask at GBBF 2006. A yellow beer with a bubbly off-white head. The aroma is sweet grassy and hoppy, and the flavor is sweet malty with notes of hops and citrus, and towards the end also a light note of metal. The end is quite bitter, and the mouthfeel is thick and sticky. harrisoni (5121), Ashford, Kent, England Jul 10, 2008 Cask handpull at Ship & Mitre, Liverpool. It’s gold, obviously with a thin beige head. A strong golden beer in the Summer Lightning vane. In fact if you gave me this and said it was Summer Lightning I’d believe you. Some yeast on armoa, a bit sweet in mouth. Drying citrus hop on finish. chris_o (4405), London, Greater London, England Nov 1, 2007 Cask (handpump) at GBBF, August 2006. Mid gold colour. Styled as a summer ale but the significant levels of fruity malt and the earthy hop notes contributed by the Goldings put this firmly in the bitter camp rather than golden ale. Although the hops aren’t particularly aromatic, there are plenty of them. An easy drinking and quite well-balanced ale without being anything spectacular. The wheat does not make its presence felt very prominently.

Gold yellow with pale head. Quite a sweet beer straight from the off, maybe some depth from a thinnish malt, caramel, butterscotch. Little on the finish.
