Tap at the brewery. Hazy bright gold with a tall, fine head. Lovely nose of doughy bread, crackers, herbs, lemon and a bit of yeast. Herbal and bitter hops, lemon, fresh baked bread. A touch doughy, then a prickly finish. Lovely.

Tap: A thin, weak, plain lager; wouldn't call it a Pilsener. Food Pairing: Brezen

On draft at the Weihenstephan Bräustüberl up the hill in Freising. I was told by a couple of the former students at Weihenstephan that this was the beer to get here. We were not disappointed. Pour was cloudy, nice head that was well-retained. Smell is German noble hop with some light malt. Taste was balanced with malt and hops intermingling with a great balance. My favorite beer of the many dozens tasted on a recent trip to Germany.

Oh. yes. Big noble hop hop and straw nose. Smooth, lightly carbed body. Big clicky hop moutfeel. Dry finish. Great pils on tap at the W. A big step up from the bottled, travelled version.

Herb hopfiger Beginn, frisch, rund. In weiteren Verlauf herb hopfig bleibend, vollmundig, harmonisch. Rundes hopfiges Pils, gut! 11/11/11/11//11

A pale golden coloured, slightly hazy beer with a frothy white head. A light hoppy aroma with lemony citrus fruit, floral and a hint of fresh cut grass. Dry mouthfeel. The taste starts off with a slight sweet, biscuity malt flavour, which is soon matched by a citrusy, grassy hop flavour that lasts into the finish. Tasted at the Weihenstephan Bräustüberl, Freising. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draught at Weihenstephaner Bräustüberl
Pale blond color, just hazy, with compact head. The aroma is mild but elegant, there is some malt and hints of noble hops, not very persistent indeed. Decent malt flavor, with a round mouthfeel, and relatively strong bitterness. Balanced.

Slightly cloudy yellow golden colour with fluffy average to big white head. Grainy malt aroma with earthy and farmyard tones. Flavour is grainy malty with mild bitterness and earthy tones. Very drinkable Pilsener.

(draught) pours a slightly hazy pale yellow colour with a frothy white head. aroma of fresh floral hops and first wort, with notes of honey, pale malts and a hint of physalis. flavour is mostly the same, very hoppy and floral, with big notes of lavender and some notes of popcorn in the medium-bitter finish. light to medium-bodied with fizzy carbonation. much better than the bottled version.
