A full rich bodied, hoppy, seasonal lager. Especially brewed for the Festbier season. This beer truly represents the Bavarian way of celebrating. Deep gold color, great mouthfeel and lots of flavor. Prost!

0.5l bottle. Clear pale golden body with a lasting white head. Aroma of bread, hay and floral hops. Taste is what the aroma suggests with notes of bread, hay, biscuit and floral hops. I think it’s a bit more bitter than an average Oktoberfest beer. Balanced, crisp and clean. Simple, but I like it a lot.

This grassy German beer is extremely drinkable and pleasantly malty, with hops present but hardly bitter. It reminds me somewhat of a simpler version of Pinkus Munster Alt, which ranks as one of my favorites. Don’t be afraid to try this one: America is taking beer to new plateaus, but the Germans are still sensei.

UPDATED: OCT 18, 2016 Bottle - Pours a clear gold, with fizzy white head. Aroma of pale malts, refrigerated flowers, slight skunk, biscuit. Flavors of pale malts, fruity, floral, lemon, hay, cough drop/medicine taste, bitter hops middle, dry finish. This gave an overall impression of a Kolsch or Premium Lager rather than an Oktoberfest/Marzen.

Beautiful pour in a tall glass, golden with plenty of foam. Almost no aroma, but first taste is good. Strangely sweet at first, the taste is very fresh. This is a very drinkable beer.

Unfortunately I believe the specimen I purchased from Hy-Vee off of Conley Rd in Columbia, MO was exposed to light to an excessive degree and therefore oxidized which resulted in this particular bottle having a skunky odor and first-taste. I tried to place this aside knowing that Weihenstephaner brews are overall excellent quality. Oktoberfest/Marzen brews aren’t my favorite, either. All in all, a bready, dry, somewhat tart brew. Not bad.
