COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A full rich bodied, hoppy, seasonal lager. Especially brewed for the Festbier season. This beer truly represents the Bavarian way of celebrating. Deep gold color, great mouthfeel and lots of flavor. Prost!

Woefully under flavoured - a bit boring - disappointing - won’t have again - come on chaps, you can do better than this!

On-tap. Pours clear yellow golden with a medium size white head. Sweet malts and grass aroma. Sweetish with caramel, bread and light hoppy bitterness. Light bodied, easy to drink.

500ml bottle from Appellation Wines, Dalry. Pours clear gold with a small white head, soon goes. Herbal and lemon aromas, touch of cooked corn. Taste has a decent herbal hop bitterness, some bread malt sweetness. Slightly sticky texture. Not bad.

Weihenstephaner Oktoberfestbier has a very thick, slightly off-white, frothy head, heavy lacing, and a clear, highly-carbonated, golden straw appearance. The aroma is of sweet, pungent, full biscuit, and the taste is of rich, sweet, bready, barley malt, a pleasant and hearty hop bitterness, and sugar. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and Weihenstephaner Oktoberfestbier finishes crisp, refreshing, easy going, and delicious. Overall, this is a most excellent beer. RJT

Pours a clear golden orange on tap with thin white head. Aroma is caramel and toffee notes, slight yeast, taste follows, thin and crisp. Easy to drink but mediocre.

UPDATED: APR 8, 2014 Bottle: Murky, golden color with a huge, yeast-like haze throughout. Head is smooth, off-white, and lasts for many minutes atop the muddled brew. Aroma is like smelling sweet, fresh baked bread. Packed with bready malts; sweet and toasty with a light underbody of grains and very mild caramel. Only a light touch of musty Noble hops. Each sip is light bodied, crisp, and fresh. Hops are much more present on the palate - definitely of the Noble variety with home bitterness, mustiness, and an earthy character to them. Toasted bread malts, much less caramel, and not as sweet as the nose would lead you to believe. Very, very faint touch of toasted bread and toffee in the finish. Finishes crisp, dry, and clean.

I drank this with an Oktoberfestbier label, according to Ratebeer it’s the same beer as their Winter Festbier. Guess this would explain the pale golden color, light body, not at all what I expected.

Poured as a taster at the local bottle shop. Typical oktoberfest style, pretty good mouth feel, okay malt flavor. Not my favorite oktoberfest, but okay.
