3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a light gold with white head. The aroma is spice, like a Belgian wit. The flavor is sour and spicy like orange peel and coriander. There is a bit of sourness to this beer. Not what I think of when I picture an Oktoberfest beer.

Best beer at Mt. Angel Oktoberfest, even if ridiculously overpriced. Nice light color body, with sweet malts balanced by some gentle hops, good head thats a pleasure to drink through, crisp, refreshing, I could drink a keg.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottles at Brian’s place. How haven’t I had this? Anyway, pours a clear amber color with a medium white head. A big fresh hoppy and sweet toasted malt nose. The flavor is wonderful: fresh spicy hops, toffee, sweet toasted malts, a bit of berries. Super flavorful and easy. Lovely.

Bottle. Clear straw. Fast dissipating white frothy head. Muted bread yeast, banana and lemon blossom aromas. Banana and bubblegum to begin, followed by some mid palate bitterness and a long, sweet but crisp finish. Great with pork belly, sauerkraut and in multiples.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20
11.2 oz bottle from Evergreen Discount. Bright golden clear appearance with an average white head and active carbonation. Aroma of pale malts, noble hops, earthy notes, bread, light yeast and a touch of fruitiness. Similar flavor, mild bitterness and light sweetness. Very clean, crisp and easy to drink. A nice rendition of a style I’m not crazy about. Prost!

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20
Well rate beer took me to this alias beer but my bottle clearly says oktoberfest. Aroma smell of caramelized malt with a good sweetness. The color is on the pale golden side where most beers of this style I have seen are towards the amber orange side. The taste those is delicious light on the hops with a good sweet malt and with a slight aftertaste I’m used to having in a pils. Overall very good and very sessionable.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
330 ml bottle into dimpled mug, bottled on 4/16/2014. Pours fairly crystal clear bright gold color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of lemon, pear, apple, cracker, bread, light honey, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of pale malt, earthy hops, and yeast ester notes; with solid strength. Taste of lemon, pear, apple, cracker, bread, light honey, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Slight earthy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon cracker, bread, light honey, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and robustness of pale malt, earthy hops, and yeast ester flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and clean mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice pale Oktoberfest style. All around good balance and robustness of pale malt, earthy hops, and yeast ester flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.
