1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
Very good head with good retention. The was very light yellow and very clear. The color was inconsistent with the amber hue typical in this style. The smell was not good at all and was very similar to a Bud light or similar light pilsner, again it was atypical for the style. The taste was like the aroma and appearance: light and crisp and not like most Oktoberfest/Marzen. The mouth feel was thin and didn’t hang around. Overall it was more like a pilsner or even a summer session and was not a good Oktoberfest.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Sip. BB 22.06.2017. Pours pale golden, clear body with a bit of floaties. Good off-white head that retains and laces nicely. Straw aroma with grassy hops, pretty nice. Tastes of malts (loads of cereal notes), with dry and grassy bitterish finish. Very dry on the palate, with thin but active carbonation, and - as advertised - rich body. Simple but well made. I’d love this to be available year-round if I were a lager guy.

Malt. Yeast. Unlit pipe tobacco. Not quite clear light gold with a bright white head that leaves a thin film of bubbles on the top. Light bodied. Super malty. Slightly hoppy. A little earthy. Slightly leafy. Super smooth with just a little hop bite on the finish. Very nice.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours light gold with a medium white head, good retention. Aromas of caramel,
biscuit, straw, and earth. Light body, good carbonation. Mildly sweet, lingering mild earthy bitter finish. The roast seems too light for a marzen, but it is a nice hearty German lager.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours clear solar yellow with a thick and fairly persistent eggshell head. Aroma delivers zesty fresh malt riding fruity and hoppy tones. Flavor not only ramps up the aroma’s offerings, it also tosses in more than a snip of honey. Mouthfeel features typical body and fizz, but this is still an enjoyable brew. Glückliches Oktoberfest!

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Yadda yadda yadda. Pale yellow, average head, faint fruity and yeasty esters, a tiny bit of hop tingle on the finish. Also, it annoys me that these German beers are bottled in the metric system and translate to 11.2 ounces instead of the 12 ounces I am used to as a by-God ’Merican. If I’m gonna drink a beer I don’t really enjoy, I want there to be a lot of it.
