COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A full rich bodied, hoppy, seasonal lager. Especially brewed for the Festbier season. This beer truly represents the Bavarian way of celebrating. Deep gold color, great mouthfeel and lots of flavor. Prost!

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 1 pint 0.9oz bottle into a big mug. The abv is listed on the label at 5.8% and there is no freshness date. This is the first Oktoberfest I have seen this year so I’m sure it’s very fresh. Appearance: The body has a bright gold color with excellent clarity and some visible carbonation. On top it forms a tall bright white head of tightly packed foam. The head has good retention but makes very little lacing. Smell: The aroma has equal parts bready and nutty malt with fresh floral hops. Taste/Palate: Its medium body has balanced mix of bready malt with nutty and light honey like sweetness backed up buy floral/botanical, almost grassy hops. The finish is quick and refreshing. It just begs for another sip. Notes: This is an outstanding, highly drinkable Fest bier. It’s not very complex but what’s there is very good!!!

UPDATED: SEP 11, 2011 Pours with a 3 finger head that quickly dissipates but leaves the best lacing I have seen yet in an Oktoberfest. The body of the beer is orangeish/gold and significantly lighter than a typical Oktoberfest. Smells between a typical munich helles and an Oktoberfest. Malty but with some noble hops balancing it. Edt: Got a fresh bottle. The taste is much like a Hacker-Pschorr maerzen, but with a little bit more hops and a bit lighter on the palate. It is a killer Festbier, just get it fresh, I made the mistake of having older bottles in years’ past.

UPDATED: SEP 8, 2012 This beer pours as a clear, golden liquid with a frothy white head. The aroma is of malty straw and reminded me of the Vitus but not as strong. The taste is equal parts sour and salty. I?d call this as a medium bodied beer. It has a creamy texture and lots of soft carbonation for great presence, and an appetizing, short and bitter finish that leaves cravings for Bavarian food. Overall I really like this beer. I found it light enough for easy drinking and having all the right features to make me want to really drink more. A very Oktoberfest beer for that very reason.

Pale golden, slightly hazy with a thin white head. Aroma is bready and lightly crackery. A touch of soft herbal character and a lightly sulfurous note. Fairly minerally crispness. Very nice fresh malt character with a nice zesty minerally hoppiness. Good balance with a clean light maltiness that is well-integrated with the bright, zesty minerally hoppiness. Soft, creamy palate. Delicious brew and highly underrated.

UPDATED: DEC 18, 2010 Bottle. A - Light, clear gold color with a slightly above average sized, thick, sticky, creamy, pearl white head. Good retention leaving a foamy, sticky layer of lace. S - Good amount of doughy, bready aroma with a spicy and floral hop aroma on top of that. Some grassy hops as well. Very German smelling, but not very much like a märzen. T - Similar to the nose with a nice bready, doughy taste making up the backbone. Pretty sweet flavors in the background. Good amount of spicy herbal, floral and grassy hops. Some faint citrus flavors and a hint of mineral taste. M - Lighter side of medium body with a good amount of carbonation. Crisp and slightly drying. D - Easy to drink beer with a nice mix of sweet bready/doughy malt flavors as well as spicy, hoppy flavors. Very refreshing and crisp. Notes: Not really like a Märzen, but a tasty beer. Definitely German tasting with German hops and bready/doughy malt taste. Overall another tasty beer from the brewery, but like the weizenbock (Vitus) it doesn’t really seem to fit the style too well.

Poured into a pint glass. 3.5 A: Hazy deep yellow color. White head has poor retention, but leaves tons of lacing. 4.0 S: Grainy, biscuity malts. Floral hops. A hint of spice. Very good aroma, but could be stronger. 5.0 T: I really like this. It has the standard Oktoberfest flavor, but without any of the pungency that is present in the majority of brews. Lots of spice. Grainy malts. Very good balance of hops and malts. Hops are earthy and herbal. 4.5 M: Medium body, perfect carbonation, and really smooth. 5.0 D: This is probably the best oktoberfest I’ve had. Can’t get much more drinkable that that. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 11-10-2008 06:25:15

Süßlich getreidiger Antrunk, geringe Herbe. Weich, sehr sehr süffig. Die helle Malzigkeit steigt, damit verbunden auch die Würzigkeit. Vollmundig, süß, süffig – alles in richtigem Verhältnis zueinander. Gut! 12/12/14/12//12

Popped a bottle. Delicious, refreshing, slightly spicy and peppery. A little on the lagery flavor side, but very nice.

Purchased this as a 6 pack of 11.2 oz bottles at Binny’s in Skokie, Illinois, USA. It was labeled "Oktoberfestbier." My understanding is that this is not one of the breweries whose product is served at the official Oktoberfest. However, it is from Bavaria and they do make quality beers, especially their Weiss Biers. This beer has a malty aroma with some fresh hay. It pours a golden light color with noticeable carbonation. This fest bier has more depth than most. Nice malty flavor without the sour aftertaste of most others. This is a drinker with character that its rivals lack.

more like a german 14-degree svetly - much better than the weihenst. pils or hell. great haystack and grass aroma, fine pencil shaving malt with just a bit of alcohol sauce, quite bitter, very dry and long fennel-seed and oregano finish - like my beloved weltenburger pils ramped up a bit. not at all like a maerzen as the BJCP defines it thank god - much drier - more like augustiner edelstoff.
