Appearance: Pours out a hazy, dark-hued, golden body with a tall, airy, whitish head.
Smell: Vibrant, aromatic scent of wheat malt, ruthlessly mashed bananas liberally seasoned with vanilla sugar and clove, and even lemon peel.
Taste: Sweet, tangy taste of wholesome wheat malt. What follows is rich, full flavors of ripe bananas, vanilla cream, and fresh cracked cloves. Small, meager spritz of lemon juice. A few added shreds of Big League Chew. One slice from a Red Delicious apple. Very light Noble hop character and bitterness. Just the perfect amount of overall spiciness to the taste. Finishes dry, crisp, with one final taste of malted wheat.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Moderate carbonation. Smooth mouthfeel, yet it remains nicely effervescent.
Drinkability: Terrifically drinkable, really! I cleared through my twelve ounces with record speed as this makes for delightful early-summer refreshment. Initially a 2 finger white fluffy head that quickly diminished leaving a small ring with a light yellow/water color. Aroma is straight overripe bananas and heady cloves, flavor to match. Carbonation makes for a dry finish in the beginning but towards the end it was a mild not dry finish. 502Flavors (617), Louisville, Kentucky, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 26, 2009 bottle. Pours a slightly hazy light orange with a frothy barely off-white head that fades to a ring and a thin foamy film. LIttle to no lace. Banana and clove and wheat dominate the aroma - spicy. Flavor is the same with a tiny hop presence to balance it out. Yeasty finish. Medium to light body with effervescent carbonation, a bit too much for my taste but on cue with the style. Overall: not my style, but very refreshing. A great summer session beer. bb (2905), Martinez, California, USA
