Block (363), West Lafayette, Indiana, USA May 2, 2009 Hazy yellow-orange pour with a nice white head. Aroma of sweet malts and citrus. Flavor is smooth of malts and a great orange flavor. Light to medium body with a really smooth texture. Davros (202), Australia May 2, 2009 Updated: Sep 18, 2009Rich hazy orange/straw pour with the expected towering head.
Aroma is mostly wheaty bread, then some banana and spicy cloves with a final hint of citrus. Personally I was expecting more from what I had heard about this beer.
Wheat also dominates taste, but unfortunately not all that much of the banana and clove transfers through.
Great mouthfeel, perhaps a bit too watery, but spot on carbonation.
Very refreshing but it’d be good if it had a more banana/clove/bubblegum notes. StuartCarter (11), Alabama, USA Apr 28, 2009 Pours a beautiful cloudy orange. The smell promises spiciness, which the taste delivers on: cloves, bananas, maybe allspice? Delicious and refreshing on a hot Alabama night! kegbear (265), Orange, California, USA Apr 27, 2009 Bottle. Golden yellow with tall white head. Aroma of clove, yeast, bread. Flavor of clove, banana, yeasty bread. One of the best next to New Glarus Imperial Weizen. jesperhammer (260), Copenhagen, Denmark Apr 27, 2009 Draft, 22-APR-2009.
Absolutely the best weiss I have had. It is so much better draft than on bottle.
Cloudy with white head.
Very spicy with lots of cinnamon.
Super-weisse. fluffy (229), Florida, USA Apr 26, 2009 after Paulaner, this is probably my favorite hefe. pours a darker yellow, almost brown with a much cloudier appearance. aroma is predicably yeasty and citrusy. it has more bite than Paulaner and it stays on the palette longer. quite good. yemenmocha (344), Glendale, Arizona, USA Apr 23, 2009 Too bad U.S. craft brewers cannot emulate this fine Weissbier. Nothing compares.
hazy straw color with rocky white head.
nose is a delightful mix of estery, bananna, clove, and bread. Very appetizing.
palate is a glorious mix of malt/wheat with plenty of fruit and that nice estery banana taste.
Finish is very appetizing as well. Have to have another. BiddleBrau (303), Midland Park, New Jersey, USA Apr 22, 2009 Straw color/hazy with thin white head. Big banana/estery aroma. Spicy flavor with banana and clove notes. Top notch wheat beer. Doesn’t get much better than this. On tap at Peculier Pub, NYC.
