dkachur (2316), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Mar 23, 2009 12 ounce bottle from Wine Warehouse in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a hazy lemon yellow color with a large frothy head. Good retention and lacing. Aroma of banana, clove and bread. Taste is caramel, bread, banana, pineapple. Medium bodied. swooper (420), Kladno, Czech Republic Mar 20, 2009 hazy, golden, white foam, medium bitter, typical weizen, fizzy, medium body. From bottle average flavour but on the tap in skiareals is the best Ryan82SM (231), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Mar 17, 2009 Aroma of citrus and banana with some added spice. Fluffy head with a mildly translucent pour. Definitely full of spicy banana flavor and a slightly grassy, but clean finish. I will have to buy this one again in July, very refreshing and well done. CharlesDarwin (1822), Point Judith, Rhode Island, USA Mar 16, 2009 On tap at Zeno’s Pub - State College, PA. Aroma is a cold glance of orange peel, a bit of lemon-flavored sugar and some soft bread. Pours a darker yellow, hazed with a thin, lacy white rim. Flavor is relatively and bland. A generic Mauritian white sugar melds with a bit of banana skin and some almond oil. Balanced, with a real juicy finished in line with chamomile and apricots. It’s okay and maybe a standard, but not all that exciting and expressive for the style. dkingsella (85), Portland, Oregon, USA Mar 15, 2009 Good German Hefeweizen. Pours a nice cloudy straw yellow with a nice but short lived white head. Plenty of bannana and yeast in the nose. Flavor has abundant bannana, yeast and clove. A very nice refreshing brew. beachbum25 (778), Powellville, Maryland, USA Mar 14, 2009 Updated: Apr 16, 200916.9 oz Bottle-Cloudy golden yellow w/a pure white head & great lacing. Spiced, fruity aroma. Flavors of wheat, banana, spice, citrus, & cane sugar. Very smooth & easy to drink w/a great mouthfeel & good carbonation. I’d say this is the best Hefe I’ve ever had, very good brew. Case (29), Germany Mar 12, 2009 Updated: Mar 19, 2009The undisputed king of the fruity banana aroma Hefeweizen (with Schneider Weisse being the leader for bready Hefes). Pours a light orange color with huge white head. Heavy-duty banana aroma with some clove. The aromas are so damn seductive they immediately pull you back to the glass just after you have put it down. Taste is bananas galore and citrus, slightly sweet. Perfect mouthfeel and carbonation, refreshing and smooth. Drinkability is only limited by how many bottles you have left or how soon you pass out. Damn this is good! In this case, "the world’s oldest brewery" is not just some gimmicky slogan, it means quality. DrDavid (957), Johnson, Vermont, USA Mar 11, 2009 Bottle. Powerful aroma of yeast and wheat. Cloudy light orange body, large fluffy white head. Flavor is strong wheat, banana, lemon, mildly sweet. Finish also has some sweetness. Pretty much the perfect Hefe.
