Nothing refreshes you more than this naturally cloudy wheat beer with its wonderful yeasty fragrance and taste. Goes well with dishes that do not have too intensive a flavour, especially that Bavarian speciality 'Weisswurst' or white sausage.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy strawlike colour, with huge white head. Aroma is banana / spice / wheat / citrusy. Taste is banana / cloves / wheat / lemon. This beer looks great and tastes even better

Bottle. Cloudy hay colored brew. The aroma is of banana and spices. The sweetness along with that banana yeasty flavor impart something that is unlike any other type of beer. Very refreshing and thus drinkable. This brew is light but also liquid bread a the same time. This is probably due to the carbonation which keeps this one from being too heavy. One of my favorite Hefeweizen from Deutschland.

Bottle. Great color and aroma, scents of citrus. Lasting off white head. Strong citrus and lemon flavors. A tad harsh on the palate at first but a good finish. Worth trying.

For all of you who have never tried Weihenstephan, I encourage you to go out and have one. Like many other German “Weizenbier”, it’s very different from Belgian “witbeer”. It has a much fuller and smoother flavor. It has a wonderful cloudy appearance when poured into the typical tall half liter glasses and will charm you with its herbal and yeasty fragrance. Pours a cloudy straw gold with a big white head. Nose is balanced yeast and citrus and the typical characteristic nose. Flavor is actually a bit lighter than I would have suspected. Still gives a nice full and even bodied hefe experience. Standard characteristics, but smooth and well done. Feel is smooth on the liquid and light on the bubble. Definitely drinkable. An easily sessionable brew, though me personally - I like mine with a bigger flavor.

Flaske. Virkelig flot hvedeøl. uklar rødlig gul farve med et kæmpe skum på. Klassiske banantoner og lilje toner. Dejlig øl, men kun en enkelt tak.

First impression before tasting... great looking beer after being poured into a Weizen... HUGE, textured, long-lasting white head with a yellowy-golden, cloudy body. Big yeasty aroma and full herbal/yeast taste with a nice citrus overtone. 12 oz. bottle.

UPDATED: MAY 7, 2008 Thick rich head poured into a weizen glass. Yeast flavored with pleasant floral and light breezy herbal tones. Chewy full texture. Great weissbeer with a salmon and salad. Very snappy and more refreshing than a Schneider Weiss for me. This is a great beer with a wide variety of foods and among the finest German Hefeweizens I’ve sampled.

Bottle from Sainsbury’s, Heyford Hill, Oxford, 21-09-07 Really nice cloudy wheat beer with great aroma of banana, clove yeast. Tasted clovey, bananaey, wheaty, yeasty and some lovely citrus, in fact packed with flavour, just what I would expect in this type of beer if done well. I’m not a fan of this style but I think I can appreciate a good one and this for me was very good.

One of the better wheat beers. Good citrusy (lemony) taste along with the sweet taste. decent carbonation. creamy yet dry. A little more complex than other wheats. had a little bit of off aftertaste- like rubber that took away from the initial great taste. **** 9/1/07 Have had again and rubbery taste was gone. must’ve been bad batch. great wheat.
