4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
I very much enjoyed this beer. Poured a very golden hazy color with a thick head. Had a nice fresh lemony taste to it that all weissbeers should have. A very excellent brew.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: SEP 18, 2006 2003 bottle. Pours a medium dark yellow, getting much more orange the more sediment is poured in. Large white head. Smells of light citrus, some faint clove and fresh wheat. Had big expectations for this one and it definitely delivered. Very delicate for the style. Flavor is subtle, lightly citric, with only a small amount of banana. The finish has a good crisp yet sweet (hard to imagine, but that’s what it’s like) bubble gum flavor, with some light hops. Body had a spritzy carbonation that I love. Hacker-Pschorr pours on more flavor, but this one is more balanced and understated.

Wheat and citrus aroma. Orange/white color with average white head. Complex finish of wheat and fruit that last the whole drink. Very drinkable.

Great all around weizen. Yeasty and fruity with a huge head. Maybe even some cloves back there. Far to easy to drink. Coppery gold in pour, but it didn't last long enough to get a good look at it.

Beautiful beer, hazy orange-gold, shines in the glass. Big head, poofy, white, and pillowy. Nose very wheaty, a bit of banana, mildly grassy. Flavor is sweet, full of banana and some clove, very punchy and juicy. Full palate as well. A very nice hefe.

Wow, a very very good beer! I was kind of surprised by this selection, great copper color, very lasting head. Capped off by a wonderful taste reminiscent of other great german weissbiers.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: MAR 21, 2004 The beer poured out of the bottle had a magnificently tall creamy beige head underlain by a translucent golden pale body. The whiff out of the bottle was wonderfully spicy. Out of the glass the beer smelled more musty, grassy, and yeasty. Tasted wonderfully crisp and spicy with a creamy wheat malt backbone supported by extremely flavorful hints of clove, banana, citrus, and peach. Dry, very refreshing and drinkable as a hefeweizen should be. One minute I had a full bottle, next minute it was gone.

UPDATED: APR 5, 2004 Hazy straw color, high dense head that lasts. Big classic aromas; banana, clove, vanilla... This would seem a bit cliche, but it's the original. Juicy, fruity flavors and a medium mouthfeel. Very well done.

Very cloudy and a little orange. Large white head. Long lasting with some lacing. Orange peel and ginger in the flavor. A little metallic tinge in the earthy and grassy flavor.
