COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Nothing refreshes you more than this naturally cloudy wheat beer with its wonderful yeasty fragrance and taste. Goes well with dishes that do not have too intensive a flavour, especially that Bavarian speciality 'Weisswurst' or white sausage.

UPDATED: MAY 2, 2005 This beer is excellent. The aftertaste has a slight burning sensation which I liked. A more bitter Hefeweizen then I have had in the past. The best Hefeweizen I have had to date.

My favorite Hefeweizen. Has a much more pleasant mouthfeel than the others I’ve tried, along with more wheat taste.

Draught. Hazy stained wood. Fairly subtle and fruity aroma with a touch of cloves and vanilla. Flavor is very big for its size. Notes of dried banana, cloves (lots), vanilla and nutmeg. Very cloying. I was looking for more of a hearty wheat taste which just simply wasn’t present.

Huge cloves, bananas and wheat in the aroma. Orange-tan coloured body with generous off-white head that lasts nicely. Cloves and bananas and wheat figure prominently with yeasty citrus tartness. Bitterness in the finish balances nicely. Mouthfeel is engagingly prickly on the insides of the cheeks and is wonderfully refreshing. Bottle enjoyed with martinT and Rastacouere.

Although not a fan of light wheat beers, the Weihenstephaner Hefe Weissbier had a very cool refreshing taste. What struck me most was the cloves in the aroma and right on the center of the tongue. Also, a hint of banana like flavor. A pleasant grain flavor is present in aftertaste.

On Tap at Flying Pie Glas was a hazy golden with a thin but dense white head. Spicey, yeasty aroma like a beigian. Easy on the hops, yeasty, bread like flavors with spiciness of cloves, bananas and wheat. Smooth but light feel, and was overpowered a bit by my Pizza. Tasty though.

A very solid German Hefeweizen. Citrusy, spicy, easy drinking, and respectable. Has that weird Weihenstephaner grain flavor going on as well. Need to try this again.

bubbly head, creamy, banana flavor with hints of cloves, sweet, quickly dissipating flavor

Aroma: upon opening the bottle I got a massive whiff of banana that balances out to banana mixed with some cloves. Appearance: murky orange brown with a smallish bubbly head. Flavour: sweet wheat, creamy with noticeable banana. Palate: yeah this is thick and apart from the massive banana aftertaste some graininess shows through.

sloghtly cloudy, aggressive carbonation. huge white top. Esters dominate, phenols play back up. plenty of wheat, smooth, creamy. effervescence breaks the cloying, creamy mouthfeel to give a clean, drier finish. this is a classic
