3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
boTTle....pours thick, spumous white head and cloudy honey-colored body with moderate carbonation. Pleasant aroma of banana esters, yeast, and fresh biscuits. Great depth of flavor with a pronounced fresh wheaty character, and notes of blood orange, some mild nuttiness( kinda like me). Continental hops make an appearance and lend some light but detectable flavor and bitterness. Mostly dry except for a touch of honey-like sweetness. Medium fullness on the tongue with some crisp and lively effervescence. Do a few more of these on a hot summer day...yep

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: JAN 2, 2010 Draft and bottle several places. Good Bavarian hefeweizen, with clove-spice-yeast aroma and flavor. Cloudy pear-honey color with huge creamy head. Flavor is spicy yeasty wheat with some not very sweet fruit, and some slight tartness. Excellent choice that beats the heck out of typical American wheat beers.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Got a cool looking cloud in the orangey-copper beer as the yeast fell down against the bubbles of carbonation. Smell and taste are a familiar fruity wheat. Very slight orange taste with hints of other mild fruit. Mild clove and very mild pepper.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
One of the best hefe’s out there. It’s no Edel-weisse by G. Schneider, but it’s eye-popping. Very slightly fruity, nice and crisp. Damn near perfect.

I’m afraid to taste anything rated higher than this. It could possibly put me death. This is by far the best Hefe. Maybe it’s to common to recieve the highest rating. The yeast from this beer is the base for every good american Hefe I’ve ever had.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cloudy golden color with a thick white head. Aroma of banana and clove. Smooth, refreshing wheat body. Not one of my favorite styles, but a very nice example of the style.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured from a pint bottle into a pint glass, cloudy golden with a big white head. Aroma was strong with notes of yeast, cloves and citrus. The taste however, was a bit thin with hints of clove, citrus and spices and a bready nose. Good carbonation. Overall very crisp and clean. A good beer, but I prefer the Paulaner Hefe Weiss because it has a heavier clove and banana taste up front. But that’s just my taste.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Slight hazy yellow and nice white head. Very fresh taste of lemon, orange, hay and slightly spiced. Good balance and nice acidity. One of the best Hefe Weissbier on bottle.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle acquired in trade with shp555. Poured a medium and hazy golden color. Aromas of citrus, yeast, light bananas, wheat and a trace of cloves. Tastes of wheat, lemons, and light spices. I found this one to be quite boring.

UPDATED: SEP 11, 2010 Maybe it is everyone using Weihenstephan’s yeast but this although this is the benchmark all other hefes are judged it didn’t do much for me.
