Half liter bottle. Hazy yellow with a large, persisitant white head. Nose of wheat, hops, and yeast. Flavor of spice and yeast with a dry, mildly hoppy finish. Refreshing.

Hazy pale gold with a big pillowy head. Initially esters dominate the aroma, but after a short time sweet spice, vanilla, yeast, and bubblegum take over. Great flavours of clove, banana, wheat and a little citrus oil. I’m not a heffe fan, but I loved this-- it actually got even better toward the finish. Ordinarily I find that there is a funny taste that accompanies many heffes that gets up into my nose and becomes annoying after one pint (I’ve always thought that maybe this was related to histamines associated with the yeast and wheat interplay, but I can’t be sure), but I didn’t get that sense at all with this beer-- 100% fantastic!

Medium lasting head, cloudy. Fruity aroma, delicious taste - creamy, fruity (but not too much), high carbonation makes it good in this case. Drinks very well, excellent

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
This beer sampled at Brew Ha Ha 2005: Pours a cloudy golden color with a good head that left pretty quick. Aroma was slightly fruity with a wheat background. Good taste with citrus and wheat.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pour is your cloudy yellow with a white head. Aroma is wheaty and vanilla. Flavor is nice. Lots of clove and yeast combine to make a nice banana flavor. Very silky and smooth as it goes down. I think the Franzikaner is better but this brew is very tasty. The Germans know how to make the best hefes!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottled: Pours and looks just like a good little hefe should - cloudy pale gold with a big white head.Aroma wheaty with the expected clove and citrus notes. Flavour is the expected tart wheat with under tones of banana and citrus. Smooth mouthfeel. Pretty good all round just missing some verve.

Nice big head. But I think that some of that carbonation turned me a bit off on the palate. Good taste of wheat, citrus, and bannana.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
500mL bottle. A hazy straw pour with a thin, fizzy off-white head. Lots of bananas, clove and yeast in the aroma. Carbonation is VERY high, and unfortunately detracts from the taste quite a bit. Still, quite yeasty and tangy. Lemony and wheaty with just a touch of pepper in the finish. Thin-bodied. Very crisp and refreshing.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Hazy golden orange with lots of big bubbles producing a medium sized head that receded gradually to a thin film. A yeast burst was the first impression of the aroma, with the typical banana & cloves evident, but not prominent. On tasting was where it all fell apart. The flavour was a bit bland, and the mouthfeel was quite rubbery and metallic, with too much carbonation. After looking forward to this being a fan of the hefe, I was a bit disappointed unfortunately.
