3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
this didnt live up to my expectations. i have had homebrew hefes much better than this. this was very basic-- lemon, banana, and wheat grains. nothing too out there. i liked lots of other wheat beers better.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
UPDATED: JAN 14, 2007 Slightly hazy golden/yellow color, huge white head. Aroma has nice rotten banana, wheat yeastiness, pepper and clove. Huge rotten banana flavor, very chewy/yeasty pepper and clove in the finish. Aftertaste is all banana. Great mouthfeel, perfect carbonation. Very well done. Glad I checked back in on this.

Thanks for scoring this one lilkem. A lemon, hay, and bubblegum aroma. A golden apperance with a large head. The flavor was wheat, lemons, bubblegum, and hay. The mouthfeel is dry and doughy. I dont care for the style but I will give it some props for being right on par. Good summer beer.

The aroma did not at first impress me, but the mild clove taste and light aftertaste sold me quickly. Very smooth and not in the least bad tasting. I liked this hefeweizen very much..

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
A darker yellow-tan color than the average hefeweizen with a healthy pillowy head and aroma of cereals, cloves, and a bit of yeast. Mouthfeel is full and creamy, rich. Taste here is dominated by the wheat malt, with banana flavor muted relative to other hefes. Light clove spice in the finish, but doesn’t have much sharpness. A unique hefeweizen indeed, more malty and rich than spicier, spritzier interpretations.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle: Hazy yellow, very thick and somewhat dirty, large white frothy head, nice lacing, strong carbonation. Clove on the nose, no real banana, slightly yeasty/bready. Slight banana emergence on the tongue, cloves, and quite bready/doughy. Wheaty mouthfeel, average body, but very clean and crisp. Very slight citrus on the finish, bready, with lingering clove and spices. An old standby when I want a German Hefe.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Got this one from Homebrewerguy and saved it for a hot ass summer day. Here it is, and down it goes. Not bad nose in this golden beauty, but not as spicy as I had expected. Pours bubbly with a fine carbonation and a quickly disappearing head. Nose of straw, clove, and slight malt. Nice wheat beer flavor with a little banana, a little clove, and some other spices. Great yeast used here as the carbonation is perfect for a weissbier. Refreshing and easy quaff... not as good as Penn Weizen, but a fine brew.
