Wasn’t a bad brew, but didn’t have my expected Hefeweizen flavor. Not bad,not great.

4.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
UPDATED: JUN 2, 2007 Pours out cloudy gold with a mammoth head. Aroma of bananas and bubblegum. Flavor is much of the same. Palate is pretty smooth and not overly carbonated. Would be a good beer for the golf course. One of the best hefes I’ve ever had. Enjoyable to drink. Significantly better than the Weihen Kristalweizen. Damn, this beer is better than I thought. I drank the half liter in like 15 minutes...it’s tasty. (rerate) God I love this beer. Definitely the archetype of bavarian hefes. I can never imagine a time when i would not want to drink this. Thus the huge overall score. RERATE again. just got a new case of this from a more reputable distributor. i can tell this is a lot fresher. just a really creamy texture and flavor. Rerate. I’ve been through a few cases of this by now and i think that is quite a testament. This beer can do it all. if you’re just thirsty from a long day in the heat it quenches you. if you want a subtle yet sophisticated beer it’s all there. i fucking love this beer and i’m a hophead. so easy to drink, low in calories, unfortunately it’s like $9 a six pack.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a very hazy pale yellow topped with a two finger frothy head that slowly settles to a nice cap that stays throughout the entire beer and leaves behind lots of lacing.
Smell; really nice yeasty smell with a slightly over ripe bananas. There’s a bit of lemony citrus going on as well as some cloves.
Taste; wheat and yeast stand out along with the bananas, there’s also some of that citric lemon and cloves. It has a bit of a spicy hoppiness in the finishand just a bit on the dry side. Mouthfeel is is medium bodied, with nice carbonation, and goes down so smooth.

Bottle. Pours pale, cloudy, and a small white head. Banana, citrus, and hay in the nose. Flavos was kinda thin- but not bad. Same as in the nose.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Wow, this is one of the best hefes I’ve ever had. Orange in it maybe, but certaily worth trying. I could actually drink more than one of these, rather than the usual struggle to get through a bottle.

4.9 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
In my opinion the best Waizen beer. Very clean and fruity taste, that reminds of banana. Nice and aromatic smell

5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
UPDATED: AUG 29, 2007 Everything a great weissbier should be. A beautiful bright yellow creamy butter hue w/ a full, creamy froth. Superb head retention that slowly reduces to a full silky canopy and lace. Aromas of banana cream, vanilla, and mellow citrus. Medium full nectar on the palate really infuses the complex flavors of vanilla, lemony citrus rind, honey, and spicey banana cream. Mildly medicinal w/ a fruity mild sweetness . Every great weissebier needs a little medicine in it’s portfolio. The finish has a slight acidic twitch to it clearing the palate for the next sip. Overall: a classic specimen. Creme de la creme! Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommended.
