Nothing refreshes you more than this naturally cloudy wheat beer with its wonderful yeasty fragrance and taste. Goes well with dishes that do not have too intensive a flavour, especially that Bavarian speciality 'Weisswurst' or white sausage.

This is a good hefeweizen, but I still rather stick with a fraziskaner. Cloudy golden, slight aroma of fruit, taste is a bit wheaty, maybe a hint of banana.

Golden unclear, very fast disappearing white head leaving thick laces; A little citrus in a otherwise clove, yeast dominated nose; Little acidy in the body but great carbonation (not all that big in comparison with other weizen beers), very little power; Long, but watery finish with lots of clove and some late acidity.

0.5 L bottle, ’bbe’ Sep 06. Light veiled dark golden with a fine sparkle. The head is not huge yet stable and quite lacy. The aroma is yeasty, floral, orangey, also slightly sulfurish and acidic. Very round and full taste, slightly acidic. There is an elegant, fruit stone or nut-like bitterness in the aftertaste. Yeast notes appear when the beer warms up. Full body, lively palate, dry finish. Great balance.

12oz bottle ink jet on back label: 7425 -pours a big 4 finger, foamy to creamy white head that laces with hazy straw/yellow color. Aroma is cinnamon, clove. Taste is cinnamon, clove, spicing is a bit strong although the beer is smooth. Mild carbonation. More than an occasional beer.

Pour is hazy golden yellow with a nice fluffy white head...smell is banana and clove...wheat flavor is more apparent than most german hefes I’ve had...some nice spicy notes throughout...nice subtle fruit finish...

Bottled, 500ml. Lemon gold cloudy, bubbly head. Initially thin and light on the pallate, making a search for flavours imperaive. Then comes cloves and banana, a boiled sweet note with pear drops. All very well, but it is a mish mash of flavours which never gives the impression of beer.

- I poured this from a 500 ml bottle into a pint glass. So, shoot me. I find that at 45 I need to update my beer glass collection. I poured slowly and then dumped the last little bit of the bottle in. I held it up to a light in time to see the yeast come down like an octopus through a very clear straw colored beer. Then things got cloudy. It had about a 1/2 inch head that died to soon. It smelled of clove and banana and had the same taste. I am disappointed. I’ve had this on tap before and there was a definite difference. I’ll have to go back to the pub and try another.

Bottled. Hazy dark yellow pour and an acceptably fluffy off-white head. Massive aroma of wheat, yeast, and citrus. Banana and bubblegum/cloves aromas are muted. Smooth! Tongue makes up for the banana the nose was missing. Citrus is louder in the mouth, as well. Spicy with a lasting, complex aftertaste. Fresh, thirst-quenching, and unlike its neighbor, Paulaner, clean. Have to agree, this is overrated, but that doesn’t take away from the enjoyment - should be one of the top Weizen in the world, a toss-up with Maisel’s for my favorite.

Have tried it alone and with the recommended pairing of Weißwurst - good either way.

went to the wehenstephaner house in muenchen. hazey golden pour with flecks of brown species floating. large white sponge ridden head. nose of spice and earthen bananas. flavor spills onto a velvety palate that enhances the banana bread flavors. good stuff.

Bottle: Cloudy golden colour, big white heavy head, aroma is fruity heavy with wheat and notes of banana and vanilla. Taste is very well balanced and refreshing, finishes a bit weak.
