3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: DEC 27, 2003 Bottle. Pours cloudy orange-golden with a large white head that lingered nicely. Aroma is fruity with yeast and wheat very apparent. Flavor is sweet and delicious, banana, spice, a bit of breadiness and lingering bitter finish. Nice mouthfeel, medium body with creamy carbonation. Nice hefe all around. Oh yeah, this one made me wish I was back in a summertime Munich biergarten.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a murky orangish color with a big fluffy white head. Aroma is of inviting yeast and wheat. Banana, apple, maybe pear and the perfect touch of wheat flavor. Palette is incredibly smooth with a near perfect finish. If you love hefe's and haven't had this yet... it's worth seeking out... fantastic

Fizzy white head. Golden hazy appearance. Yeasty aroma with tinge of clove and banana. Lovely light and fruity palate with strong yeast and banana flavor which has a tinge of spice at the end. A classic hefe--with a lot of appeal.

I'm going to ignore the last time I tried this, on tap at Cambrinus, Rotterdam, and instead talk about all the good times I've had with this beer from the bottle. Wonderful, wonderful beer - big fruity, sweet flavour, with a superb bright orange colour and smooth, fluffy mouthfeel. This is just about the best hefe weizen around.
