3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pous a nice cloudy orange with a big white head that disapated quickly. Aroma is clove and banana. Flavor is a nice balance between banana, bubblegum and clove. Finish could use a hair more bitterness, but very well balanced overall.

Very beery beer. Has a good malty flavor, with nice bitterness from the hops. Being the worl’ds oldest brewery adds a little cool factor into the beer also. Nice cloudy amber body with a sweet hoppy aroma.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cloudy with a thick, but short lasting, cream head. The flavor was yeasty but a bit too sweet for my palate, however the finish was oddly salty, like pickle.

Summer is wheat beer season. Well, all year really is, but summer is a good time to meditate on weizen qualities because it’s too damn hot to do anything else. But I digress. Weihenstephaner is the quintessential hefeweizen. Cloudy pour with fragrant nose of yeast, banana, and some clove spice. Palate is excellent with healthy carbonation and that ever-appealing appetizing characteristic. Flavor is a nice wheat interplay of yeast and malt that revolves constantly and maintains richness. Ideal, the ur-weizen for sure.

Bottle. This beer was not overly aromatic. The appearance is great and the feeling on the palate is excellent but overall I felt it lacked flavor complexity. Still, it was very good and refreshing. Could use more flavor but it was aesthetically appealing nonetheless with a beautiful color, head, and carbonation. Not bad at all.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
500 ml bottle. Aromas of Banana right after popping the cap. Wonderful Hazy orange with a huge fluffy head that seemed to breath as it diminished ever so slowly. More banan aromas after pouring. Add in the clove to make this a very traditional smelling Hefe. More clove and less banana in the flavor. Classic wheat flavor too. Hop bite.... Not... Just like it should be. Very good Hefe.

Nothing like a hot summer day in Atlanta for a hefeweizen. Had this on tap, but was served in shaker pint glass. Kind of loses some of it’s appeal when it’s not served in a weizen glass. Anyway, nice golden color with a great aroma: banana, fruity, lemony, and clove. Good carbonation. Could drink lots of these at a sitting.
