Nothing refreshes you more than this naturally cloudy wheat beer with its wonderful yeasty fragrance and taste. Goes well with dishes that do not have too intensive a flavour, especially that Bavarian speciality 'Weisswurst' or white sausage.

bottle. wow,it looks incredible poured in my Hacker-Pschorr glass! Gigantic white fluffy head is picturesque and lasts and lasts. aroma is predominately yeast, but also consists of banana, bubble-gum, clove spiciness. yeasty, malty, spicy, and sour. creamy mouthfeel. a very refreshing wheat. One of the best wheats that I’ve had the pleasure of trying.

Pours hazy orange golden with a foamy white head. Dominating yeast notes in the aroma with wheaty hints. Bittersweet flavor with yeast, fruit and notes of clove. An all right wheat beer, but not outstanding.

Tap from andy’s. Poured a hazy golden yellow. Aroma of mostly yeast. Not my fav style but was refreshing and crisp. Slight taste of clove and banana? Sweet dry finish.

Looks perfect on the pour. Nice foggy orange color. Has a thick head that stays. Smells of bread dough, cloves and tropical fruit. The best I can come up with is; it tastes like beer and banana bread. It’s certainly sweet, too sweet. Candylike. Feels very viscous. Oily. Needless to say it’s not very palatable.

On tap. Hazy dark gold, smooth creamy texture, citrussy, very yeasty and a touch spicy with some banana, clove, bubblegum and smoke notes. Long sweetish finish. It is a little sour for my taste.

Nice foamy head, well balanced flavor with less ester and more malt flavor than most wheat beers, rather high alcohol for a wheat beer but is acceptable, more carbonation than most wheat beers. I’d like this as a draught beer even more. Outstanding beer!

UPDATED: JAN 18, 2005 A good example of an authentic hefe. I’m surprised that it beats out franziskaner and some others on the rating scale though. Nice on the palate, initial flavors very citrusy, smooth and well-blended with the more sublte aspects. But I think it finishes weak. It’s just missing a little something.

Cloudy dull orange in the glass. Lively nose with spice and liquered banana skins. Faithfully replays in the mouth; more spice, cloves and banana. Has quite a bold flavour profile and could probably be drunk quite chilled if one wished.

Have been drinking this for about two years, but thought it was time I judged it. Poured from the bottle into a wheat beer glass, it quickly formed a big dense rocky white head. The body itself, an opaque golden straw. An initial slightly lactic nose, lead to hints of sweet malt, wheat grains and vanilla. On the palate it performed an orchestral piece, with a lot going on at once. Flavours of honey & lemons, bubblegum, citrus fruits and mild clove-like notes. Carbonation bites at the front of the tongue (minor demerit), but is balanced by the big body and foamy, long ’sweet and sour’ aftertaste. A beautiful Hefe Weiss.
