Caramel aroma. Toffee taste, banana. As one would hope from a hefe.

This is one of my favourite hefe-weizens. However, I was pretty boozed up by the time I decided to knock this one back, and it wasn’t refreshing enough for me. The aroma was the usual toffee and banana, but the palate was sticky, and the taste was so packed full of caramel it was simply not crisp enough. I’ll have no problem rerating this in the future though. djones (116), Michigan, USA

Decently spicy (clove and yeast) with a very lemony flavor. Hint of banana as well. Smooth and well balanced. Has a tingling tartness. Yeast/spice flavors in the after taste; fairly dry finish. Well balanced spices that will not over-power. A pleasant aroma of banana and cloves. One of the best hefe weizen I’ve had, masonjer (563), Holt, Michigan, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 1, 2008 How have I not tried this yet? maybe because it’s a boring wheat beer. Well, I can admit when I’m wrong, because this is delicious! Poured a cloudy apricot color with a nice white dissipating head. Aroma was cloves, lemon, banana and some spice. Taste was much the same, with banana bread and a terrific semi dry finish. This beer excells in it’s balance and has no noticable flaws. Best Hefe I have ever had! pj1855 (154), Eagan, Minnesota, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Sep 30, 2008 Pours a cloudy pale golden color with a nice sized foamy head that doesn’t last. Aroma of bread, spice and banana. Flavor starts off with the sweet banana and then you get the malts and spice.
Nice carbonation from middle to end. Very smooth. Nice hefe.
Ceebs 25 gives a pretty good description of this one. RuneStumo (514), FØRRESFJORDEN, Norway

The beer smells nice and has a nice aroma. The head is small and there is little carbonation. Aftertaste is a little weak. Muggus69 (506), Sydney, Australia
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 25, 2008 500ml bottle. BB 21.1.09. Poured into official weizen glass with reasonably big fluffy white head atop a slightly cloudy golden body.
Plenty of banana on the nose, quite citrusy with a good deal of clove, vanilla and bread coming through.
Carbonation is fairly lively, creamy texture, smooth full body with a hint of refreshing citric tartness.
Unripe banana and lemon peel seems to be the best way to describe what I taste on the body straightup. A bready maltiness takes over bringing pepper and clove, with some sharpness and dryness lingering on the finish.
Not as good as remember...but what beers are! Excellent hefeweizen regardless, not overdone and I think that may just be the key. Ceebs25 (223), Naperville, Illinois, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 22, 2008 11.2 oz bottle. Very aromatic and pleasant smelling beer, lots of yeast and wheat bread dough, bananas, light peach, and a hint of bubblegum. Good frothy starch white head, sadly it mostly dissipates, very cloudy, mostly opaque, dark butter yellow in color. Flavor is rather similar to the aroma (besides the bubblegum part) with the start being a jumble of several different flavors and a bunch of yeast, but then theres an almost tangy bitter earth citrus hop starting in the middle into the finish, which lingers pretty nicely, a good feel overall with a tingling bite. Really, this hefe is quite hard to beat.
