Nate (2533), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 1, 2008 From bottle. Wonderful sweet banana wheat aroma, with clove and mild citrus notes, yeast funkyness and light gaseousness. Great nose on this one - this exemplifies what I think of when I think German Hefeweizen smell. Cloudy medium amber body with foamy off-white creamy-foamy lacing head. Medium bodied, with medium carbonation that’s almost effervescent. Starts with terrific fresh sweet wheat malt, light banana, and some chalky bitterness. Light amount of citrus character and yeasty taste. Even a bit of clove and vanilla in there, too. Light and refreshing and one of the best I’ve had in a long time. Beer2000 (1775), Kristiansand, Norway Aug 31, 2008 500 ml bottle. Hazy orange body with a foamy off-white head. Aroma is fruity, yeast, ester and a bit spicy. Flavor is refreshing fruity, citrus, banana and yeast. Medium body as preferred with this type of beer, very nice and close to perfect. scoth (266), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA Aug 30, 2008 Pours pale yellow, slightly cloudy, big, dense head. Lacing that clings thickly to the side of the glass. Strong aroma of lemon and banana. Thin but rich body, a little dry. Well balanced taste, slightly sweet, very subtle, some banana and wheat, but other flavors are hard to pick out. A very mild hop aftertaste. zvikar (413), Tel-Aviv, Israel Aug 30, 2008 From tap, Great orange-honey color, stronge aroma of apple & banana, nice flavour of banana & clove, well balanced, liked it very much. jujubeast6000 (772), Houston, Texas, USA Aug 30, 2008 (bottle): Pours a cloudy yellow body. Huge foamy white head,.creamy & lasting. Some fruity esters, some spice like clove. Some heaviness in the aroma. Fruity banana-like taste. Somewhat watery, but definately not weak. tarjei (1741), Bryne, Norway Aug 29, 2008 50 cl bottle. Hopheads´ tasting 22. august. Hazy yellowish color, fine white head. Aroma is banana, wheat, spices and yeast. Flavor is the same. Nice weissbier, but not as fantastic as the score indicates. MoDog (909), Griffith, Indiana, USA Aug 28, 2008 Poured from a 500ml bottle and served in a weizen glass. This beer poured a cloudy golden orange hue with a thick head of slowly fading white fizz. A small amount of slippery lacing was left around the glass. The aroma of the beer was made up of flaked wheat, ripe bananas, and a stong note of spicy clove. The flavor consisted of mild banana and some lightly spicy yeast. Everything that the nose displayed seemed muted or toned down a notch. The mouthfeel was crisp and light-bodied with moderate carbonation. Refreshing and highly drinkable, but as far as hefes go, this was pretty average. Prometheus (97), Fayetteville, North Carolina, USA Aug 26, 2008 Draft beer.
Wheat, with light banana.
Beautiful cloudy yellow color with a good head.
Great taste, but I don’t have a good way of describing it. One of the best hefes I’ve had!
