clueo (112), Pennsylvania, USA Apr 18, 2008 A great Hefeweizen! Nice banana flavor and aroma. Pours a milky light bronze color. Smooth finish and a treat on a hot summer day or evening!! Scubatrip (388), Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA Apr 18, 2008 From the bottle, pours a hazy light orangish with a thick foamy white head. Aroma is not overpowering, but has lightly distictive notes of banana and yeast, as would be expected. Thicker than many heffies, smooth and malty without losing touch with the cloves, yeast, and light banana that the hefe is known for. A fine beer. mansquito (819), Boston/Philadelphia, USA Apr 14, 2008 Pours a hazy orange with a nice white head. Aroma of spices and banana. Taste is a crisp sweetness, which is refreshing and nice. Spicy taste in there more than in other German hefes. Light palate, but not watery like other beers in the type. Brewsmith (136), Torrance, California, USA Apr 14, 2008 From a 0.5 L bottle purchased locally. Aroma is fruity, grainy and a little sweet. Color is pale golden, a little hazy, with a half inch white head. Flavors are grainy, and a little banana fruityness. Light, refreshing. Easy on the pallate, and just enough bitterness. Not as crisp as it should be. Probably starting to show a little age. Still a decent beer. kiefdog (1567), Tampa, Florida, USA Apr 13, 2008 50cl bottle from Willow Bend Liquors (Florida). Pours a slightly cloudy golden with a thin white head. Aroma: lemon, citrus, fruit with a hint of nuts. Flavor is wheaty, yeasty citrusy, with just a hint of hoppy bitterness on finish. Syd (888), Waconia, Minnesota, USA Apr 12, 2008 Bottle pours a very cloudy straw color with a decent clingy head. The aroma is yeast, wheat, perhaps some clove/banana notes - not as much as I expected. The flavor is clove, very slight banana, some lingering ale fruit characteristics, and spice like cardamom. The palate is very refreshing and lively. Overall, this rocks and it has been too long since I’ve had a hefe! HughConway (364), Alabama, USA Apr 11, 2008 Draft. Gorgeous honey with thick creamy white head. Spicy yeasty nose. Nice spicy fruit flavour. Damn nice. Strykzone (1459), Wood River, Illinois, USA Apr 11, 2008 What a massive head! Honey colored and unfiltered. Clove, wheat, and yeast are the nose. Clove dominates the flavor but it is quite consistent with the aroma. Some mild bitterness is a bit of a surprise and is also somewhat soapy. Fruity esters show up mid glass (22 oz.) I miss the banana and orange but this was a nice hefe and was also distinct.
