Nice foggy- yellow colour that really gives you the impression that this one is made of honey. And the taste is no different cause is like you feel the honey in it. It also has the classic bitterness at the end but its taste really gives this one a place among the best weissbiers. Doppelganger (1353), Dry County, Arkansas, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Aug 30, 2009 Opaque warm peach pour, dense, abundant clouds of ivory bubbles. Sun-warmed dessert apples in the nose, vanilla, clove, just a faint little lactic note—icing on the cake. Spritzy, tinglely-tangly wheat, restrained honey sweetness. Teaming with microscopic points of fruit and spice, such complexity that no sip registers quite the same: now orange blossoms, now cloves, now lemon, now coriander seed. Hops restrained but when sought for, definitely show: a firm resiny presence lending some nice shape. Soft and full on the palate. Delicious and completely endearing. oteyj (724), Canterbury, New Hampshire, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 29, 2009 Cloudy nectar pour with one finger tight white head that lingers fleetingly. Aroma is loaded with banana and clove, as well as a distinct and pleasant yeast biscuit dough. Lemon and coriander are a bit more subtle, but make their way in there as well. Flavor is quite bready with a magnanimous yeast profile and a citrus profile that nicely complements the yeast dry wheat malt. Less sweet than many of its style, this one pulls it off deliciously. Palate is smooth, not overly carbonated, and bone dry in the finish. Great for the style- a standout for sure. craftycarl21 (521), South Hero, Vermont, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 29, 2009 Pours a murky dark peach color with a nice but quick to dissipate white head. Aroma holds lots of doughy yeast, citrus, banana, spice, lemon, and wheat malt. Flavor is heavy with bread, yeast, dough, and wheat, along with clove. The finish is really nice, with an impressive bitterness to it; this isn’t nearly as sweet as some more mediocre hefeweizens. Palate is very refreshing, but not too light; great beer for the style. | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Aug 18, 2009 (Bottle) Pours hazy golden with a creamy white head. The aroma is fantastic and typical for the style with spicy clove-like phenols and light banana and mango esters. Some pear and peach as well. The doughy yeast and wheat makes the nose round and soft. Undertones of vanilla ice cream and mild white pepper. A tiny touch a lemon and flowers are also notable. The flavour is light sweet and light bitter with a nice wheat backbone. Starts with fruity esters and light toasted malt and ends with clove and light band-aid phenols. Undertones of vanilla, lemon, bubblegum and flowers. The mouthfeel is round and soft with a lively carbonation. Very clean and easy to drink yet quite fat. There are some hoppy notes in the aftertaste. Medium bodied. Ester and phenols are the new malt and hops.
