greenleaf (90), Florida, USA Jan 18, 2008 Bottle. Pours rich yellow with a nice white, long lasting head. Aroma is noticeable bananna. Flavor is spicy and nice. A light refreshing beer. avalon75 (9), Charleston, South Carolina, USA does not count Jan 17, 2008 Poured from a bottle into a weizen glass. Had a cloudy amber appearance with a quarter inch head. Slightly trace of fruit in the aroma, with wheat creeping in. Has a subtlely complex taste, with plenty of spices to keep you interested. Fair amount of carbonation. This is an excellent example of a hefeweizen and very drinkable. Hank1980 (734), Athens, Georgia, USA Jan 16, 2008 Pour is a golden with a decent head and a good amount of carbonation. Aroma of cloves, spice, and bananas. Taste is nice, more complex than most hefeweizens. Mouthfeel is light, with plenty of carbonation. Overall a nice German brew.
JFGrind (1346), Glenside, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 15, 2008 Sometimes Germans just know how to brew a great beer and this is one of them. Banana yeast nose, rigid foamy head, and soft golden body make this a well done, session-able, thirst quenching German Hefe-licious beer. mistersinalin (367), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA Jan 13, 2008 It may be the oldest, and possibly the best from Bavaria, but the bottle I got stateside may have been old. It seemed to lack the expected levels of banana and cloves that I am used to. I would like to re-rate this when I have one on tap in Germany. BlackDonald (1127), Boise, Idaho, USA Jan 13, 2008 This is one of my favorites. A truly classic representation of the style. Extremely well balanced, and food friendly. Wonderful acidity, loads of cereal grain flavors, with a bit of chalkiness, lemons, bananas and cloves. Consistent from bottle to bottle. perfektion (5), USA does not count Jan 11, 2008 Pours honey yellow with a thick, creamy head. Citrus aroma; flavor has grape, citrus and nutmeg notes. Very effervescent. Overall a good Hefe. Headbanger (1574), Aurora, Illinois, USA Jan 9, 2008 16.9 oz bottle-A hazy yellow with a somewhat small head for a hefe and an aroma of cloves, banana, yeast and wheat. Taste of the same with some cloves. I feel this as being one of the lighter hefes but still very tasty.
