decaturstevo (1971), decatur, Tennessee, USA Nov 16, 2007 A hazed golden orange pour with a thick gooey lacing. Very nice spiced aroma. A fuity flavor with hints of clovve and a lot of bannana. Carbonation is ok but it was a bit fizzy. Palate was solid. A very good offering for the style has alot of the characteristics needed for the style. JonR888710 (999), Cochabamba, Bolivia Nov 9, 2007 Pours a hazy golden with a thick white head. Aroma is of sweet clove, wheat malt and light, fresh fruit. Taste is exquisitely pointed, refined and crisp. After drinking so many American incarnations of the style, its lovely to try the granddaddy from which they all have descended. Sweet banana taste balanced by clove. Has a distinctly German feel to it. Great beer. swoopjones (1862), Buffalo, New York, USA Nov 5, 2007 Along with Denisons the best Hefe out there. Enjoyed first @ Gollem in Amsterdam & again @ Ellicottville Beer Festival. Creamy cloudy clovey. Delicious Wulfstan (509), California, USA Nov 4, 2007 Updated: Feb 25, 2008Arguably a benchmark for Hefeweizen, this is incredible and perfectly exemplifies the traits of this style. It is hazy gold with a huge, dense, thick white head that lasts forever. The aroma is honey and pears. The palate lively. The taste is crisp, sweet before leaving a dryish but smooth finish, it tastes of wheat and biscuit with vague fruit and transforms to the paradigmatic bubble gum finish, being an almost minty, bitter, old-fashioned bubble-gum flavour like Dubble Bubble. jonno (542), Brisbane, Australia Nov 2, 2007 Updated: Jun 8, 2009Drunk from it’s intended glass just accentuates it so much more...so light and floral. a great hefe. Lots of banana and clove of course. BrianHagmeier (257), Coralville, Iowa, USA Nov 2, 2007 Updated: May 12, 2008I bought four of the Weihenstephaner beers and saved this one for last because I am a Hefe Weiss lover. So here I go. Pores a typical Hefe cloudy amber with a huge frothy head that just wont yield. Typical sweet malt and citrus aroma. Excellent palate with just a little tartness on the finish. Well its no Franziskaner but all in all a refreshing wheat beer. Gornography (1), USA does not count Oct 30, 2007 Its difficult for me to comment and or rate this beer becuase it is so good i cant really explain the intenseness that comes for siting and enjoying it. Um again the scores i rated here are as close as i can come to representing my opinion of this beer without giving it the medal of honor even tho im damn close.
I wont get into all the fancy terms every1 else uses but if u havent drank this beer, do it if u come across one. Maybe i will come across a beer better someday but for now its pretty high on the list. Drink from a GLASS!! :) FatguyRacer (129), Crownsville, Maryland, USA Oct 27, 2007 Great hefeweizen. Lovely color and taste. Much better experience than the one i had with Hacker-Pschorr. Very drinkable. I had mine with a batch of steamed crabs.
