Commercial Description:
Nothing refreshes you more than this naturally cloudy wheat beer with its wonderful yeasty fragrance and taste. Goes well with dishes that do not have too intensive a flavour, especially that Bavarian speciality 'Weisswurst' or white sausage.

Purchased just a single bottle. It poured a nice semi-cloudy yellow, with a nice sized head. The aromas were good, strong banana, clove, and wheat. The flavors are the same with a hint of vanilla. I didn’t like the fact that it was a little thin for my likings, so the mouthfeel was off just a bit. Also, the nasty black yeast that dropped out of the bottom didn’t help my rating at the end.

(nottle) Pours hazy golden with a large white head. Aroma is quite nice with some banana, clove, and a nice dose of yeast. Taste is where the beer falters a bit, with slight, very slight sweetness of banana, with the rest being clove, and a finish of yeast quite similar to that of mineral water. Medium body, not too bad of a hefe.

[Bottle, thanks Guerde] Pours hazy golden with a big off-white head that lasts forever. Aroma is very nice with the typical hefe aromas of banana and cloves. Taste is the same but a little disappointing in that it is quite subdued. This is not helped by the medium-thin mouthfeel and average-at-best finish. Still though, this is definitely drinkable.

Definitely the best hefeweissen I have had so far. It looks more like honey than beer, being a rich, almost opaque, slightly orange golden color. Aroma is strong and wheaty, with a strong citrus overtone - but the latter may have come from the obligatory lemon wedge. Flavor is rich, typical of a wheat beer but mouth-filling - no "thin" feeling whatsoever. I got a strong hint of citrus, but again this may have been due to the lemon wedge in the beer. Light, smooth and tingly, this beer is a winner. No wonder they have been in business for almost a millennium!

Bottle, 500ml. A densely cloudy golden colour with a large frothy head. Aroma is peach, orange, banana, yeast/bread and spice (clove?). Taste is wheat, banana, spice (star anise, clove) and a touch of malt. Somewhat watery. High carbonation. Enjoyable, but I’ve had better.

From bottle, and hefe glass. Delicious aroma, banana spice flavors and aroma. Ideally drink from a large 20 oz. hefe glass so that you can enjoy the aromatics as you drink this one down. Earthy, musty, banana, fruit, sweet, bubbly. Mouthfull after mouthfull of goodness. Thoroughly enjoyable down to the very last swig. You will head directly to the refrigerator to crack open another one, even though you know you shouldn’t, not tonight, on a worknight. But it’s so tasty you can’t resist.

A fantastically drinkable and smooth German beer. I can’t wait to have another one to give it a proper rating....hold tight
