iamqueensblvd (178), , Iowa, USA Jul 24, 2009 Cloudy dark yellow pour with lacy white head. Great crisp beer with a sweet finish on the palate. alepig666 (78), Adelaide, Australia Jul 24, 2009 Poured cloudy golden, with about half a centimetre of foamy white head, that dissipated to a ring around the glass. Lovely aroma of mostly smooth vanilla, with some wheat and a tinge of clove, not overbearing or sickly like some lesser hefe’s are. Flavour is mostly vanilla and a good helping of banana, with a wonderful smooth mouth feel. A very smooth swallow, with a sweet aftertaste that turns dry. I thought Schofferhofer was great, but I think this tops it. Not a big hefeweizen drinker, but if I feel like one this will be the number one choicefor me. Superb. mikalooch (158), , New Jersey, USA Jul 23, 2009 Bottle. Pours a hazy yellow with a nice controlled white head. Aroma is yeast wheat, and lemon. Heavy wheat bittterness followed by a nice underpinning of malt, citrus fruits, sourdough yeast and a touch of spice. Nice light mouthfeel, perfect for a warm summer day. Outstanding hefeweizen, try it. vtafro (452), , New Jersey, USA Jul 23, 2009 Tap @ Isaac Newtons, always is. great summer beer, will have next time i go to that bar. Is a nice change from double ipas, RIS, and belgian quads and tripels. Great beer. adrian910ss (1395), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 20, 2009 12 oz bottle courtesy of Tim. Pours a cloudy golden orange honey with a medium frosty white head. Aroma of cloves, bananas, bubble gum and wheat. Taste of cloves, bananas, wheat yeast and light bubble gum. jhliesen (403), West Melbourne, Florida, USA Jul 19, 2009 Bottle-hazy gold/straw coloring with the typical large white head. The brew had plenty of carbonation. Aroma was of overripe bananas with clove and wheat. The taste was kind of the same. I have to say that most Hefeweizen taste the same to me. I like them, I just can’t tell too much difference. Produce Place 2.79 NPRugby11 (82), New York, USA Jul 19, 2009 Pours out a cloudy orange/gold with a thick white head. Has an amazing banana scent, which carries through to the taste. Beautiful fruity sweetness complimented by the banana hints, goes down very smooth as well. This is the best beer I’ve ever had, it’s easy to see why this brewery has been around for nearly 1000 years. DiabolikDUB (143), Portland, Oregon, USA Jul 18, 2009 Poured from Bottle into Weizen glass.
Pours a cloudy yellow with some hints of orange and a fizzy but dense white head that quickly dissolves into a good layer atop the glass. The aroma is banana, clove, fruity esters and yeast, slightly bubble-gummy. The taste is sweet upfront and accompanied by some earthy notes and ends a touch tart with a nice semi-dry finish. Its light bodied with very nice effervescence. Very tasty stuff, I know now why people bring this beer up when talking about a "classic" German Hefe. We done, tasty and thirst quenching.
