Beer Snob (356), Ontario, Canada Jun 21, 2008 Not my favourite style, but very nice indeed.
Aroma is yeasty with just a hint of banana and clove. taste is strong for the style and the aftertaste lingers pleasantly.
"The World’s Oldest Brewery" seems to have perfected this style.
djones (77), Michigan, USA Oct 3, 2008 Very tasty brew. Cloudy golden yellow color. Decently spicy (clove and yeast) with a very lemony flavor. Hint of banana as well. Smooth and well balanced. Has a tingling tartness. Yeast/spice flavors in the after taste; fairly dry finish. Mmmmm. MFuchs (2), , Illinois, USA does not count Oct 3, 2008 This is a very good food beer. Well balanced spices that will not over-power. A pleasant aroma of banana and cloves. One of the best hefe weizen I’ve had, masonjer (449), Holt, Michigan, USA Oct 1, 2008 How have I not tried this yet? maybe because it’s a boring wheat beer. Well, I can admit when I’m wrong, because this is delicious! Poured a cloudy apricot color with a nice white dissipating head. Aroma was cloves, lemon, banana and some spice. Taste was much the same, with banana bread and a terrific semi dry finish. This beer excells in it’s balance and has no noticable flaws. Best Hefe I have ever had! pj1855 (66), Eagan, Minnesota, USA Sep 30, 2008 Pours a cloudy pale golden color with a nice sized foamy head that doesn’t last. Aroma of bread, spice and banana. Flavor starts off with the sweet banana and then you get the malts and spice.
Nice carbonation from middle to end. Very smooth. Nice hefe.
Ceebs 25 gives a pretty good description of this one. Rune_Stumo (103), FØRRESFJORDEN, Norway Sep 26, 2008 06.02.2004, 0,5l Bottle. The colour is hazy yellow. The beer smells nice and has a nice aroma. The head is small and there is little carbonation. Aftertaste is a little weak.
