COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Nothing refreshes you more than this naturally cloudy wheat beer with its wonderful yeasty fragrance and taste. Goes well with dishes that do not have too intensive a flavour, especially that Bavarian speciality 'Weisswurst' or white sausage.

A beer that I’ve claimed over the past few years as one of my top ten favorites, tonight’s beer is the Weihenstephaner Hefe Weissbier. Brewed in Bavaria, Germany, Weihenstephan’s label states that it’s the oldest brewery in the world. Records date back to the year 768 with documents mentioning a hop garden, but the brewery was officially licensed in 1040. The 17oz bottle pours at a clear burnt-amber color, with a nice thick ivory white foam on top. The foam lingers for several minutes, and leaves behind a mild lacing as it recedes. The aromas are bright and distinct, with plenty of lemon, orange peel, banana, and spices. I absolutely love the aromas on this little Hefeweiss! On the palate, the Weihenstephaner is flavorful and complex, yet so incredible easy to drink! The citrus and banana is right up front in my mouth, but not far behind is the spice and just a touch of alcohol. This is an absolutely delicious brew that I highly recommend for anyone who ever considered those mediocre mass-produced imitations.

Nice palate. Rich flavours make the taste smooth yet complex. Not so cloudy for a hefe but the appearance is delightful

On tap at Irreale. Hefe aroma, but soft and elegant. Light body, sweet, mineral, fresh, soft banana hints. Great.

Trying this draft in Istanbul so rather unorthodox. Really quite lovely. Strong wheaty aroma with a corresponding taste. Lovely cloudy appearance. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle & Keg at the same time. Keg is more fresh and slightly more aromatic due to its unpasteurised nature. It is definitely a classic. Pours a huge head almost 3 fingers, which lasts for a long time. Flavours of banana, clove, yeast, bread, and citrus hit the nose. Taste is mainly based on banana and bready maltiness of wheat, no hop bitterness, but citrus notes. Must try this German classic.

UPDATED: MAY 2, 2015 Uitgeschonken in 0,5 liter Weihenstephaner bierglas.

If only I had discovered this beer earlier in life. Other raters have described this well enough, it is the pinnacle of the style.

Pours hazy light golden like a wheat beer should. A very good head in a wheat beer glass! Smells yeast and spices. Mouthfeel is light with low carbonation. Tastes light yeasts, spices with little citrusy flavor. Very good wheat beer. My best wheat till date! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Hazy yellow, retentive creamy medium white head. Nose is a nice and mellow blend of banana, fruity bubble gum and wheat, some mild citrus. Flavor is fairly wheaty and banana-y, some bubblegum in there, finishes with wheat and spice. Flavorful, yet mild and smooth, and balanced, nice.

De lo mejor en su genero, aunque como todas las de trigo demasiado floja para mi gusto.
