4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 Onenote81 (1002) - Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA - APR 22, 2012Originally reviewed 4/28/09. Pours a cloudy yellowish gold with a bubbly, frothy white head spilling over the top of my weizen glass. Gorgeous. Smells of spices, bananas, citrus - smells awesome.
Mouthfeel was a low point for me. Not crisp at all. Very watered down and slick. I was disappointed with this characteristic, though it created an easy quaffing environment. Flavor full of spicy citrus goodness, but nothing that was heavy or harsh. Just perfectly tame. Wonderful Hefe that I will come back to again and again this summer.

500ml bottle - Typical Hefeweizen appearance, milky yellow, fluffy white head. Nose is a spicy clove-cum-banana, lots of cereal and dough there too. Refreshing taste, light sweetness, medium body, yeasty herb finish. A very good beer. They’ve had long enough to practice mind you. Prost!

Everything that you’d expect in a Hefeweizen. Good Appearance, Banana Clove almost buttery taste, thick on the palate. Best Hefeweizen I’ve ever had.

Nice cloudy appearance as you would expect from a wheat beer. Hints of floral aroma. It’s smooth and has a slight bit of citrus at first. The after taste is not as good. Overall, an average beer.

Slightly cloudy with small head. Good floral accents with a tasty caramel undertones resulting in a very drinkable beer

Cloudy, light straw with frothy head when poured from bottle into the glass. Banana, bubble gum and baking bread aromas. A touch of sweetness initially which leads into a yeasty and only gently bitter mid and back palate. Only lightly carbonated. All of this leads to an incredibly refreshing beer.

Was shocked to realize that I had never rated this classic. Several years ago, I stated that the stringent German beer laws resulted in uniformly boring beers. I cringe thinking about this idiotic statementt. This beer pours a hazy yellow with a massive head. Smells of spice. The vibrancy of the mouthfeel might trick a drinker into thinking this beer was spiced. Flavors of bananas and citrus. A great beer. A perfect go to when you feel like grabbing the devil you know. 500ml bottle. Quite hollow in flavor. Expected more than just herbal/spice notes.

500 ml bottle. Golden, a little foggy, with a minimal head. Aroma with banana, close to pinapple. No yeast taste. Somewhat sweet. Body rather thin. Refreshing and almost enjoyable, since I normally don’t like Weissbier.
