Nothing refreshes you more than this naturally cloudy wheat beer with its wonderful yeasty fragrance and taste. Goes well with dishes that do not have too intensive a flavour, especially that Bavarian speciality 'Weisswurst' or white sausage.

In a weizen glass, a soft half centimeter white head appears and lasts for about a half minute before slowly dieing into the body. Typical cloudy body is seen. The smell is the banana up front with some yeastiness and graininess. The taste is sweet with previously mentioned flavors combined decently. The palate is light to medium with a decent creaminess all around. Overall, this is a good hefeweizen and good for me.

.5l bottle from Alko Seppälä Pours hazy yellow with high foamy head. Aroma is banana, yeast, malts, wheat and dried fruit notes. Flavor is mostly same. Well balanced.

This is one of those beers that few Germans really know, but which seem to be immensely popular abroad. Bubblegum, plums and of course banana on the nose. The taste is rather weak for a Hefeweizen, some banana, some yeast, but not much. Good, but overrated.

Cloudy and pale in color with a fluffy head. Smells like yeast and banana with a hint of clove. Very smooth and refreshing on the palate.

Murky yellow beer, short-livede white head, very lively carbonation. Lot’s of yeasty banana notes in the aroma but also plenty of herbs, cloves and bubblegum. The taste is dominated by yeasty banana and cloves, herbs, citrus and some malty sweetness. Long aftertaste. Lovely.

Clear notes of banana and clove in aroma, the smell is sweet and a bit sour at the same time. Taste is the same as above however lacks a little punch, no real taste coming off the tounge.

Classic Hefeweizen from the world’s oldest operational brewery. This one has a fluffy head and deep orangey blonde colour, a soft and gentle character with the typical presence of banana and cloves aromas but in a subtle way, a soft and mellow mouthfeel and a somewhat dryish finish. Excellent example of the style.

Pours a cloudy gold with a big white fluffy head that has excellent retention. Nice lacing on the glass. Aoma of banana and yeast. Excellent weissbeer.

Bottle from supermarket. Golden, apricot colour with thick white cream head of good stability. Aroma of sweet oranges, maybe blackcurrant, some spice, some solvent ester character. Relatively low carbonation for the style supports good mouthfeel. Taste starts fruity (oranges again) and ends with spice and moderate bitterness. Enjoyed this.

On tap, pint at Smith Street Taps, Singapore. Lemon grass aroma. Medium sized head and a light amber colour. Light carbonation. Flavours of bananas, clove and a little citrus. Smooth to drink with a nice sweet finish. Pretty consistent wheat beer.

(50 cl bottle from local supermarket poured into Brøckhouse footed pilsner glass; BBD: February 27th 2015) This is not my style really but I recognise good quality when I see it. Pours a hazy golden with plenty of creamy white head and excessively lively carbonation. Good retention and lace. Aroma is banana, cloves, nutmeg, esters and buble gum in a rather well balanced composition. Oily texture, medium to light body and a short and sweet finish. Flavour has aroma notes and a mild sweetness. Okay but would probably prefer it to be served rather cold as I’m not a big fan of the flavour.
