Lost a point because the head went down too quick. Fat wheaty taste with citrus tones (lemon) and banana. Chewy. Clean palette and a nice balance. Possible the standard against which all other German Wheats should be measured. JPDIPSO (4944), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA

Hazy dark straw color with a tall white head. Mild clove and sweet malt aroma. Light spice flavors of clove with only a touch of bananas, pears and raisins. Finishes clean and quenching. ogivlado (3108), Zagreb, Croatia

| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Sep 30, 2003 Pours a very hazy orange-amber with a giant off-white head that slowly recedes. It almost looks like shaving cream as it fades into a rocky layer atop the beer. It was so attractive I had to take a picture of it. A thick-veined lacing is left on the glass. The aroma is bready yeast and a touch of clove and/or coriander. Smells more like the latter. Also a touch of lemon zest in the nose. The taste is superb, with again a nice breadiness, topped with fruity flavors, banana being the strongest of those, with a touch of plum or grape sweetness in the background. A touch of butterscotch adds a nice contrast to the coriander spiciness and wheat crispness on the finish. The mouthfeel is buttery yet very refreshing. Carbonation levels are perfect, providing a nice liveliness on the tongue while not getting agressive and distracting. subtle (12), USA

Exceeded all expectations I had since most hefe’s have tasted the same to me in the past. This has clearly become my favorite of the sytle in a hurry. Perfect, unfiltered appearance and the most lovely marshmellow-like aftertase on the finish.
