Commercial Description:
Nothing refreshes you more than this naturally cloudy wheat beer with its wonderful yeasty fragrance and taste. Goes well with dishes that do not have too intensive a flavour, especially that Bavarian speciality 'Weisswurst' or white sausage.

Very good Hefe. A little thicker than the paulener and seemed to have a little more taste to boot.

Smelled of bananas and vanilla and tasted of bananas, clove and vanilla. Nice cloudy yellow color. Tasty wheat beer but i think i like a few others better.

Winey, yeasty aroma, good spice and pepper. Peppery spice also comes through well on the palate with pear candy and banana, cloves, and a dry spice finish. Like Oakes says, a familiar flavor, but pretty impressive overall.

Re-rate: Orange color, good head.Finely differentiated banana and vanilla aroma and flavor. The mouthfeel is a bit like as if you get cream and liquid banana in your mouth. Still very palatable and no annoying aftertaste. Excellent weizen.

Head is initially huge, frothy, white, fully lasting. Body is hazy medium yellow, bottle conditioned. Aroma is moderately malty (bread, nuts), moderately yeasty (cobwebs), lightly hoppy (flowers), with strong notes of banana and clove. Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Lovely stuff, a classic...but...has this gotten sweeter of late? Maybe just my imagination.

2003 bottle. Pours a medium dark yellow, getting much more orange the more sediment is poured in. Large white head. Smells of light citrus, some faint clove and fresh wheat. Had big expectations for this one and it definitely delivered. Very delicate for the style. Flavor is subtle, lightly citric, with only a small amount of banana. The finish has a good crisp yet sweet (hard to imagine, but that’s what it’s like) bubble gum flavor, with some light hops. Body had a spritzy carbonation that I love. Hacker-Pschorr pours on more flavor, but this one is more balanced and understated.
