Bottle (500 ml) bought @ Épicerie Lauzière. Split 2-ways with the lady.

Appearance: Hazy pale golden with a medium white head, good retention and some lacing.

Aroma: Bananas, cloves, bread and grassy notes... I would definitely not know this is alcohol free in a blind tasting.

Taste: Bread, cloves, bananas, grass and light wheat acidity. Again, this is on par if not better than most of the Weissbier available.

Palate: Light to medium body. This is maybe the only place where the absence of alcohol is felt. Medium carbonation. Cloves and bread finish.

Overall: Surprisingly good for an Alkoholfrei! In fact, it’s better than most of the Weissbier available in bottles here. Easy drinking and quenching. I’m not sure how fresh was this one, but I think it might have been a bit old and still it was pretty good. Tasty stuff! It’s silly that the weighted average for this one is currently at a 2.54 while The Bruery Chocolate Rain is at 4.01. Which one of the two is easier to drink is obvious and I wouldn’t be so sure that the one standing at 19.5% abv is more complex than the one at 0.5 %.

Bottle at home. The beer looks as stunning as his alcoholic brother with a cloudy orange color, and a large, off-white, creamy foam . The aroma is also strikingly similar to common Hefeweissbier with lots of delicious banana, dry hay, citrus and clove . But what happens in flavor ?! Is incredibly unbalanced with dry hay and strange woody taste. Here is also yeast , but in an unpleasant way, and acidic citrus in aftertaste. It is somewhat reminiscent of wheat beer, but felt terribly tame. Mouth feel is too light and watery and the beer has barely bitterness. It all started so well, but look and smell promised too much relative to taste.

Bottle. Orange hazy white frothy head. Smell of banana, wheat, cardemomme. Moderate sweet watery, some fruity noter and a nice spicy kick. Light bitter, thin ending. Surprisingly god!

Trübe orangegelbe Farbe, mittelgroße leicht beige Schaumkrone. Geruch nach reifen Äpfelen, trocken, hefig, süß. Geschmack sehr wässrig, reife Früchte, hefig trocken.

500 ml bottle purchased at Les Marchants de la Bière in Sainte-Thérèse (Quebec) on May 8, 2015. Hazy blonde, medium head. A mix of pale and wheat malt aroma, some notes of lavender. Some light banana and citrus bread taste, not too dry, little to no bitterness. A regular hefe would be disappointing, but as a low alcohol version its fairly well made!

nope. had this after and race and thought it would be the perfect quencher, a na brew from a great brew. This tasted and smelled strongly ofcereal that’s been sitting out too long, and in no way shape or form resembled a hefe.

From the oldest brewery in the world, a fine example on how to brew alcohol-free beer. Pours pale golden with a gigantic (but rapidly vanishing) white head. Secondary aromas prevail: bread, dough, corn flakes, toast and yeast. Sizzling, fresh, with a full body. Slick, thick and rich. Not very long-lasting finish.

0,5L bottle (from Stockmann, Tallinn). Pours hazy amber with beige head. The head stays. Aroma is very sweet, fruits, bananas, wheat. Flavor is very watery, wheat, fruits, bananas, some citric notes. Overall: as far as alcohol free brews go, this is not a bad option. As far as beers go, this is drinkable, but not much more.
